Exclamation Theif 2 mission 13 missing items

Hi there

We are using version 118 the sold out version of thief 2 we are on mission 13 Casing The Joint. We have missing items first of all in the chapel we turn left into the curtain the chest is missing. 2 In the room where Garrett says Ah Storage is empty no chests nothing. We had this problem using version 1.07 now version 118 is doing it. How can we fix this please? I have windows xp Home service pack 2 And Nvidia 8600 GeForce video card.

Thanks

How do you know the items are missing? I have the original release patched to 1.18. I find no chest in the alcove off the chapel. That's the place you enter, right? I did not find the storage area in a few minutes, but I do know that there are lots of empty places in Casing. The next mission Masks has more loot in the same building. Could you be confusing the two?

The chest in the chapel room up the little steps with the glowing, pulsating, font has no chest, you mean? And the storage room is missing two of the five chests (are they the two on the upper storey, or are two out of three missing from the lower storey)? Weird. The version number wouldn't glitch it, nor would your OS or graphics card. Is the miss12.mis file in the game folder 16.3 MB (17,158,144 bytes, size on disk)? Odd that only chests and the objects linked to them would be missing, and so many. I wonder what else is going on? I take it you are certain there is no confusion between the two missions (EDIT: As Peter Smith mentioned)? Also, I have to ask if you did a full uninstall and a clean reinstall with the proper patch. Without another opinion, I'm tempted to ask you to upload your miss12.mis file for me to look at.

Very strange indeed. Are you saying that your version has a chest in there? My original release version doesn't.

What version of T2 do you have, jtr7? Does the chest have loot inside? What is your total loot count in expert?

My version doesn't have a chest in the chapel with the pulsating font. I got my T2 from Eidos the year T2 was released, in a trapezoidal box. I applied the official 1.18 patch. I have replaced the EXE as part of DDFIX, but an EXE could not explain this. It must be a resource. My .mis files and missXX.osm files, plus all the CRFs, are all original, dated March 2000. EP.crf has been disabled by renaming it.

My miss12.mis, dated 3/11/2000, has a size of 17,095,791 (file size) and 17,096,704 (size on disk). I think that only the file size matters. Size on disk depends on cluster size, which varies between systems.

If different versions have different resources, that could be (and obviously is) confusing.

Wow. Yeah, that's confusing. There's no chest in there, ever, but there is that toolbox with a flashmine. I was thinking about the room more than the fact that while there is no chest in the alcove, there is a toolbox.

I have no toolbox either. Either in Casing or Masks.

Victorian hope chests, footlockers, toolboxes, brain-mush...

Is there a container with a flash-mine in there, bigbigjay88aus1?

I wish I had an early version in my collection, like back when the mech cherub was not indestructible and the Rumford's had a non-canon cult shrine in the basement (Rich Carlson's signature altar).
