Default Widescreen resolutions

Since there is a serious lack of activity on the DX1/2 forum, hopefully it's okay to ask this question here. How does DX1 function with widescreen display resolutions? I've currently got a 4:3 aspect display notebook, but everything available now has gone to widescreen much to my annoyance.

Also has anyone tried either DX1 or 2 under Windows 7? I had no problems running them under Vista.

Runs beautifully on high resolutions And here's a great resource if you've got a widescreen:

http://www.widescreengamingforum.com

They have a huge database of guides on getting games (both modern and classics) to work in widescreen resolutions at correct aspect ratios. There's a method or fix for almost any game. The only games no one's ever gotten to work properly are the Hitman games (except for Blood Money), unfortunately.

I know widescreen monitors annoy some people very much, but I have to confess I couldn't go back to 4:3 now even if I wanted to (which I don't)

Agreed!

I suppose that's one good thing about Deus Ex 3's choice of engine: at least it didn't use Unreal Engine 3, which thus far has only given vert- widescreen displays. Maybe we'll get proper hor+ widescreen!

Yeah, gotta agree that I find 16:10 displays nicer than 4:3 for just about everything. I remember the day when I stared at a 17" widescreen monitor and thought to myself "Wow, that's just so wide! How could anyone get used to that?"

Can DX1 be run on "Eyefinity" resolutions -- such as 5760 x 1200?

Even if you could I imagine that would look really ugly that large, even with that high res.

I do hope so, I hate it when games are still coming out as "vert-" (can't blame the classics, but modern games like BioShock, ugh what a bunch of retarded game devs). If I wanted a zoomed view with crop, I would've taped my head to the monitor instead of buying a widescreen

He's talking about EyeFinity, connecting 3-6 monitors to your GPU, so he's talking about 3 monitors with 1920x1200 (XHD) resolution Like so:

I think I recall someone getting it to work with TripleHead without too much trouble, which is pretty much the same thing, so it should work with EyeFinity.
