Default I got a Retail CD Key so what can I do?

    Hi there

I buy my games most times online like in Impulse or Steam. So I bought a Retail CD Key for Batman Arkham Asylum. I tried to register the key in Steam but that did not work, so I contacted the seller who told me that it is a Retail Key not a Steam CD Key.
My question is now how do I get the game? Is there somehow a way to download the images and use them (will not work for sure because of the CD cheks afaik). Maybe I can register the retail key somwhere else like d2d (direct2drive)?
    Please help me!

    Cheers frenger

Arkham Asylum doesn't use a CD key...

As far as I remember, the boxed version includes a windows live key, but you won't be able to play the actual game without a physical disk.

Where did you buy your key from, and how much did it cost? Are you sure that it is what you think it is?

    Hi
bought it from cdkey-game.com ( /batman-arkham-asylum-cd-key-p-560.html?osCsid=0219b0d62f5e4888d36cd60a5cdeed94 paste this in the adressbar right after cdkey-game.com as the whole url gets scrambled here... ) for $ 27. I already bought several games there (all working Steam keys) but this is the first retail Key.

I'd contact them and see what they expect you to do with it

Looking at their website, I would say that they have sent you the windows live key - which lets you create a windows live account, download updates and DLC etc.

This key is not required to play the game. To play the game, you need the physical disk, or to purchase one of the direct download options.

If cdkey-game will not refund your money (they should, since they haven't given you the game in a usable form), you might be able to cut your losses by paying their $9 charge to deliver the actual retail box.

Already done that still waiting for their reply...

Hm I think its getting to complicated and I'm going to ask them for a refund, I just wait 'till the Steamshop drops the price (Steam prices in Europe are way to overpriced).

    Thanks for the Information!

Well that 24.99 counts for US, here in Europe would be the same price in € - a joke, but that's how Steam calculates it's ridiculous. But thanks anyway
