Default Is there a way to not use Games for Windows Live? I can't play.

I read this forum before on how not to use GFWL and I skipped it the first time and nearly finished the game and did some updates so I can play the new challenge maps and it deleted everything and I have to start all over again.

And I get this constant problem where I can't log in and so I'm stuck not being able to play even a simple challenge map. I exit and I'm able to use the internet fine, like now, but I can't log in and have to wait til I can eventually log in somehow.

Also, GFWL would sometimes disconnect and doesn't save my high score on the leaderboard. It won't save it. It's just a nuisance.

I completely agree. A console gaming network applied to PC gaming, such a novel idea (sarcasm). The whole deal with savegames is especially dumb, and I haven't seen GFWL provide anything useful or original. I hope GFWL dies a slow, horrible death at great cost to Microsoft. PC gaming already has a superior network in the internet, imo.

press home, it should appear, if it doesn't follow the on screen instuctions to make a new one. You can have multiple accounts on one machine.

Eh? Well the home button is greyed out when the question comes up and for me to make a new one it asks for an internet connection. All I want to do is play the bloody game help!!!

I created an offline profile a week ago but the game has lost it and I cant see anywhere to create another one and I dont know how I did it to start with.

This whole process is beyond ridiculous. It would be really reallu stupid to have to take a grat game back becuase of such a stupid reason but that is exactly what I will do if I dont find any way of playing this game out of the box on my computer without an internet account.

Nothing on the box says you need an intenet account to play (otherwise I wouldnt have bought it) so this is bloody criminal - not to mention bloody annoying!!

Yes well after half an hour I found it. When the explanation comes up about creating an account if you scroll down you get to a very small link for creating an offline account. This whole process is obviously geared towards creating an online account to get advertising etc to you. Its a right rip off. Its just as well this game is actually very good becuase I dont like to be manipulated in this way by developers. I may just finish the game quickly and then take it back for a refund as I really dont like this whole Games for Windows Live rubbish. I am very much against anything that requires you to be online to play a game. Becuase of it I have lost a weeks worth of playing and have had to do the whole lot again due to my having set up an offlinea ccount and then mistakenlym setting up an online one after which wiped out my offline one. And the most annoying thing is none of this is properly explained anywhere. I will think twice about getting any more Eidos games after this and I will be certainly looking out for Windows Live stickers from now on and avoiding them like the plague. These developers really need to sort themselves out as this kind of thing is really killing PC gaming.
