Default [Tech Q] - Unable to install

I played Batman on my Windows Vista but upgraded a few days ago to W7.
For some reason Batman didn't work anymore so I re-installed it but got 3-4 messages of missing DLL's (weird as it installed like a charm on Vista). Anyway, I re-installed and still got the same message returning.

I de-installed again but apperently something went wrong.
Windows Control Panel states it is installed at 0 MB and can't de-install it.
The game itself is NOT on my HDD at all.
When I pop in the DVD of Batman, the launchmanager says I can "Play the Game" (if I press that, it says it can't find the path as it is de-installed) but I can't use the option "Install the Game"!

So... how can I get this fixed? How can I get the launchmanager to pick "install the game" and how can I fix those DLL's that are missing?

Cheers!

You'll have to search through the registry and delete any references to arkham asylum

OK.

Can you tell me how to do that? I know tempering with the registry can cause some serious problems so I want to be sure I don't mess things up.

Run regedit,
Make sure 'my computer' is highlighted within regedit (before first entry).
Edit>find, type in arkham, press 'find next'.
If the result looks like it's from the game and not something else you may have on your disk then you Can delete it.
If it is a folder on the left hand side of the pane you should be able to delete this too
Once you've deleted. press F3 and wait for the next result
Keep searching through and deleting until there are no more results,
You should now be able to install the game.

Thanks, I can now re-install the game again.

Do you happen to know how I can get the .dll-problem fixed?

No no, I'm in the process of installing. It took some time as I was busy with some other stuff.

Problem is that the entire dll-problem happened when I re-installed the game (two times) so I'm expecting it to happen again.
I'll post the dll's if it happens again.

Thanks!

For some reason, third try is a charm. It installed and plays like normal again.
For some reason it does not recognise my save games anymore, but heck, I don't care, I wanted to replay the game anyway.

Thanks deders!

yeah, g4wl is the cause of the savegame issues, you can backup folders from Vista and 7 (search the forum) but I don't think you can do the same from XP if you are upgrading your os.
