Default Ratchet and Clank

I was looking at the Ratchet and Clank game series and it looks to be pretty fun, lots of variety and the graphics look pretty sweet. The game that was just released appears to be the conclusion to the series. Is the rest of the series worth buying /playing, or does it just appear to be cool? I always like adventure games like Banjo-Kazooie, Super Mario Galaxy, etc. This game kinda reminded me of those...anyone have any suggestions?

I don't own any of the games in the series. Oh, and Jak and Daxter was the other one I was looking at. Compare and contrast if you want.

Ratchet & Clank Tools of Destruction is brillinat, one of the best games ive played on PS3. Quest for Booty is ok considering its only like a mini adventure.

Wasn't Quest for Booty just like a DLC extra? I think I downloaded a demo of it a while back...it was confusing since I didn't know how the control scheme worked, or what the story was about.

Quest for Booty was a stand alone DLC continuing the story from where Tools of Destruction left off and introducing A Crack in Time.

I've played all the Ratchet and Clank games and it's one of the best series of games, the humour in them is great, but maybe that's just me.

Games are fun, weapons are mad, pretty good story line and pretty well thought out. Controls are normally fairly easy to grasp and have I mentioned I find the humour in them good?

I'd definitely check it out (mines on pre-order since we've got to wait another week over here), I'd recommend playing Tools of Destruction first, one because it's a good game and two because it will then bring you up to speed on this story line.

So the PS3 Ratchet and Clank games are separate stories than the PS2/PSP games? I was just a little cautious when I saw this is like the 7th or 8th game in the series (Crack in Time, which was what I wanted to get)

There isn't much of a story in Ratchet & Clank. Your a lombax with a robot sidekick and you shoot stuff with really big guns. You don't come for the storyline, you come for the gameplay, oh and the big guns.

Yeah, they're seperate as the PS3 series is set in the future, Crack in Time is meant to be the last in the series. In regards to your earlier posts Quest for Booty was downloadable from PSN but here in UK it was available in stores too thats how i got mine.

Ok cool! I picked them both up yesterday, and Tools of Desctruction seems pretty sweet. I played the demo for Crack in Time, and those time puzzles with Clank are absolutely awesome!

Ahh, well don't worry I probably won't even get to finish ToD until you have your hands on it ...oh wait, you said you're saving for Modern Warfare 2...

...nevermind!

I've now beat both Tools of Destruction and Crack in Time, and man are they great games! I still have to go back and collect all the gold bolts and such, but I will certainly play these games again!

Btw, if you haven't played Crack in Time, I think it's 200% better than Tools of Destruction. They also ramped up the difficulty level (and how your nanotech doesn't get increased like it did in ToD), as at the end of the game I had only 100 HP. Platforming elements are superb, and the puzzles are just challenging enough that it would be hard for kids, but fun for adults.

I really hope that this isn't the end of the series, what a disappointment that would be

I love the Ratchet and Clank games. Always nearly the exact same format but it just works. It's great to play and see if you can upgrade all the weapons to their strongest. Jak and daxter are good but a bit inferior to Ratchet and clank.
