Is anyone watching this?
The new series started this evening. It's a stereotypical reflection-type programme of the Brits abroad and it is filmed in Benidorm itself. I'd rather swap cottage cheese for pigeon poop in my tagiatelle pasta and swim in a shark-infested ocean than be within three thousand miles of such a chav-infested, lager-swilling tourist resort (No offence) ![]() Here's a review on Wiki: [EDIT: Wiki page seemingly being updated at the time of posting] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benidorm_(TV_series) Here's a clip from a previous series with the posh lady and the not-so-posh lady ![]()

Mind-numbing pap for the brainless masses. Sorry.
I'm stunned it got another series. |

I don't think Lo was trying to pass it off as a five star movie, Once Bitten.

To be honest i have heard bad things about Benidorm, and how its very reckless over there. However i have been on holiday on the coat around 50+ miles away from it, called Calpais (Cal-Pay), and its a very beautiful place, and has the sort of accomodation and restaurants you would expect in Spain. Overall an awesome holiday, the weird part is that when on holiday having a meal a girl from my science class walked straight past me :O

![]() Where - or what - is Benidorm? 'Must be some famous British resort...'dunno, I'm just a clueless Yankee. Just last Friday I got my long-awaited and pre-ordered Set 13 of Midsomer Murders, and I can't wait to dive into it. It's the only program I've shelled out money to own on DVD; it's taking up a huge chunk of real estate on my shelving but I do not care. Nettles is God. ![]() It's hard to tell from this YouTube clip - what's the Benidorm plotting like? Is it a good, absorbing drama or just ratings-draw pap? P.S. - Looking for reliable information on Wikipedia is like looking for credible advice on virginity at a whorehouse. IMO. .

I have not watch it yet. but if I have time, I'll spend it in watching Benidorm.

To KasigiYabuSama:
Benidorm is in Spain but boasts, like every sun-kissed location, it's fair share of resorts that are built for the sole purpose of profitting financially by attracting (largely), Europeans whose weather systems are, at best, unpredictable and susceptible to much fluctuation throughout the four seasons. The Brits in particular have a reputation that precedes them to many such holiday destinations and I hate to say it, but it is oft a well-deserved stereotype ![]() Naturally, I far prefer more cultured destinations. Yes, I like beaches and I like bars - but not "English" bars that are designed to attract louts. There's that old saying...when in Spain But if in Spain I want to see Spain. I have no desire to be sandwiched inbetween 300 Brits wearing football shirts and swigging lager until they drop in a drunken stupour onto the beach.I want to see the REAL country - Cazzer has the right idea. My next destination after Canada is Egypt. No chance of meeting any beer-swilling louts over in Luxor because it is a Muslim jurasdiction and outside of licensed restaurants, alcohol is off limits. Amen to that
