Yep. I just want to be able to make a statement without having to explain simple things. Asking dangerously stupid questions, exposing the mind behind them, without realizing the greater ramifications is simply unconscionable. People reach compassion fatigue too soon.

To answer another question: Garrett is invisible to society because he's below the poverty line and spends too much on his hobbies. Melodramatic? Too bad.

I've been linking the videos when something comes up in discussions, emailing links, etc., and dropping the TDM name as examples of what's being done by the team, and now, a bit of the community, trying to get people familiar with it, casting a wider net. More videos, edited to protect secrets, but constantly tease and pique curiosity and interest would be great. Take us in to some of the screenshots and move the camera around, especially an animated update of the old screenshots, if it doesn't give too much away.

I agree, however for completeness pros and cons of TDS
  • advantages - lots of people have it and so might play a mod, there's a wealth of support and information on T3Ed, adding new things needs tools but these are available
  • I have no experience of T3Ed beyond looking at the original mission maps with it, no rope arrows but an approximation can be made, no swimmable water with no way of adding it

Why put your hopes on a complete unknown when you have a fantastic solution right here?
well by the time I finish what I'm doing T4 may be out, I don't work that quickly as my spare time tends to get used for other things, so ok yes there is a fantastic solution right there in TDM and if I was starting fresh I'd jump at it despite the fact that not many people have it yet

TDM is currently the "something better" that I've been wanting but I'm currently committed to something else and by the time I'm finished it may no longer be the leader of the pack, if it is then I will happily use it, providing dromed doesn't kill me first

So its a timing thing for you esme. Fair enough. If you find the time perhaps you'll get around to it.

jtr - so you're unemployed at the moment? Well I hope that doesn't last but I think its affecting your judgement. Of course people who cannot afford to upgrade their machines or buy Doom 3 because they really have no money for it won't be spending to play/use TDM.

But that has always been the case with games or any other luxury item. I don't think we're in a "The economic downturn has boshed TDM's chances" stage yet though. Everyone knows people that cannot afford certain things. I think you're making too much of a big deal about it in terms of who and who will not use TDM. Its not like TDM FMs are the only game you won't be playing, is it?
