Lags if i see gunshots

Hi buddys,

I got a Problem with the game.
Everytime I see a gunfire or a gunfire is near my screen, my gamefps drop to 1-5fps.
I already updated CPU-Driver and Graphic-Driver, also i downloaded the Dual-Core Optimizer.

But nothing worked ... I did'nt find any thread with the same topic .. pls help

Graphiccard: ATI Radeon HD4850
Processor: AMD ATHLON 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 6000+

I'd say make sure you have all the patches, but a patch has never been released for this game. I hate to say it, but you may be out of luck. You could try the technical support forum, but in all reality this forum is pretty much dead. The game itself is just about as dead as it's main characters.
