Confused with the Riddles.

Hey guys, sorry for the dumb question, but how do you get the Riddler to talk? I've been finding trophies everywhere but can't start a riddle.

if you go into the pause menu, under riddler's section, highlight one of the riddles and he should read the clue... but other than that, i can't get him to talk either... i thought he was going to talk when you entered each new section, but the only way i can get to hear him is either through the pause menu or after solving one of his challenges
