if you want to play "at the highest goddamn graphics settings" you're gonna need a little more juice than a GT220

for graphics, a 4770-4870/GTS250 is probably required. for PhysX you're gonna need something like a GTX260 or 275

yeah the GT220 is a lower end card thats just between the 9500gt and 9600gt performance wise. building an i7 system and sticking a GT220 in there would be silly for gaming.

well an i7 build is a waste if you are not going to use higher end parts. an i7 build should include a gtx260 or better and 6gb of ram with a 64bit Vista or 7 os. if you are going to use a low end card then there is no need for more than a Core 2 or Phenom 2 build.

Well its a deal at Dell £689.01... and there is no reason why i cant replace / add a new card. Its more the fact t hat its a good base that will require only little upgrades to last me a good 4 years.

i dont do much gaming a few titles like BAA catch my eye.. its mostly basic use

then do a more mainstrem build for half the price. again there is zero reason to spend that kind of money on i7 pc if you arent going all high end.

Ok, i missed that offer anyway so im back to ground zero.

Im not confident, and dont have the time to build my own one.. and i dont see many builds for that sorta price that would be good.

Maybe you guys can help.. any suggestions on PCs at Dell or on alternative UK sites that i should look into.

trek554, what build would you recommend?
