So i have my doubts.
texmod is a dead issue when it comes to the protected exe of the game. It won't happen, only the devs can supply a texmod friendly exe. I don't see that happening. the other options are to get inside the main texture file. or to have a decompressed folder so files can be used that the engine will see. As for modding there is stuff going on. we just don't want to get hopes up if its a bust.

I still say we start collecting signatures.

And ask the devs to develop a simple way to replace the textures of the game.

Who's with me?

Thats good to know, thank you.

I also participate in another forum with loads of people who would sign in a heartbeat.

The only thing im kind of fussy about is the structure of the petition itself, I have absolutely no idea how to do it. Keep in mind my native language is not english. Anyone with experience on this subject, that would like to help?

Thank you very much.

Taking about general forms, you ps3 guys and xbox guys. can get the same mods. how you say? well the unreal guys added support for adding content to the ps3 and 360 Cool right! It can cook the packages special just for the PS3 and 360. So I think we can post over there in the general fourms. So lets hope and pray our devs are hip to this. Hopely give us the unreal editor. This game would have a long long life.

woah woah woah woah woah!!!!!!

NO MODS ON THE 360, EVER!!!!

let me just get that out there right now. you guys don't know what your talking about.

Firstly, the 360 will be impossible to get any modded content on unless you hack the console which involves you and your console being banned from xbox live until the year 9999. and UT3/UE3 never had 360 support.

Without hacking, there is no way to access the 360's hard drives. and the games are not made to access data from the hard drive outside of their own game data that is hard coded into the game. Hence why community made mods on the 360 are impossible unless it was built into the game. there is simply no possible way to do it.

Now the PS3. UT3 was made specifically with the PS3 in mind (i know i have the ty PC version) and on the PS3 you can actually access the hard drive and move whatever file you want to it. Hell you can even install a new OS on the PS3.

However, Batman was not built to see external files with the exception of the DLC, so you'd have to hack the PS3 version, figure out how they're doing their DLC and put it in that way. But oh, thats right your not replacing anything because those files are on the disk. So costumes won't work.

Sorry but none of these mods will EVER be on the consoles. You choose to have a console instead of a gaming PC, you lose free mods. thats basically how it goes. It is impossible to get any of these to work on a console. Especially the 360.

Dude you have no idea what your talking about. Not trying to be mean. no hacking is needed. I been doing this on unreal 3 for over a year now. its part of the offical engine now. all you need is a PC to design the content, and a PS3 or 360 to dowload it into via usb storage device. look here now calm down. Support for the xbox is in beta stages. All is good. But thats only if we get UnrealEd support.

Yes i do know what i'm talking about.

PS3, yes, it works fine. on Unreal tournament 3 only. and only because epic built in mod support and then ported the PS3 version to the PC

and apparently you didn't read what i said since all i was talking about was the 360. The PS3 is fine, people can do what ever you want on it. Hell i have 2 friends that share their accounts so only one of them buys things and the other one gets everything for free.

But Microsoft is not sony. MS has been very clear that they won't allow any user created mods or anything like that ever.

And for batman, it dosn't matter because the entire game engine would have to be changed for both consoles and i really doubt eidos cares to do that.

So basically the point i was trying to make is that your not going to ever see any console mods for B:AA. PS3 with a massive amount of hacking may be possible. Xbox will never be possible without modding the console which again as i said, brings a very nice ban.

Future UE games may have modding support on the PS3, but Microsoft has said multiple times that they will not support third party content that involves access to the hard drive.

So the only way for user made content to work on the xbox is for the entire system to be built in the game with it's own browser, such rock band network, or the spore catalog in game.

Microsoft will never allow anyone access to the hard drive to install mods. just not going to happen.

I know what i'm talking about. not only am i going to school for game design, i've also been modding games for almost 10 years now. so i know what i'm talking about.

@knastcore: ah yeah you got me. pretty badly sick at the moment so i'm amazed i was actually able to type that at all.

@Inzane: well firstly, no such program exists to unpack a tfc. it's a specialised format used only for this game as far as i can tell and nothing that Epic has released will work. nor will changing the file type. Tex mod won't work and even though i could easily extract the models in 3-4 different ways, it's pointless because there would be no way to put it back together.

The game looks for all textures to be in that file. Therefor you'd have to unpack a 1GB file, replace whatever files, and repack it. And personally i don't have the massive amount of spare time it would take to create a program to do that. And because of how the game works you'd basically need to make a program that can just open it and replace/extract files. because extracting the whole file and repacking it would be a pain in the ass.

And since this file format is only used in this game, it's probably not going to happen.

personally i don't like to be negative. but i don't want to see people getting excited over things that are not going to happen. better to let them know now, then wait 6 months.

Sorry that your sick hope you feel better. I agree with your last post 100% .and adding modding is reliant on the UnrealEd. If we don't get it than all this is pretty much a pipe dream I for one made the PC purchase based on modding it. I could have gotten the ps3 version and had the joker maps, But I said what the heck, modding will be better. Make some new maps, etc have some fun. ATM alot of us are feeling a little burned after the second PS3 dlc. And BAA got me excited to map again in a unreal engine. now that feeling is slipping away.
