Well, that's the point. You've seen gameplay videos from the game, right?

I'm surprised nobody mentioned the first two Thief covers so far.

They are awesome.

Yes, I've seen the game videos and I do get the point. It is too 'soft' comic art for me, if you like, it is not dark enough for my taste. I prefer Frank Miller style comic art, for example.

Yeah, the Thief box art is sweet.

I like both styles. And I think this one fits Borderlands better, based on what I've seen and read about it so far. With the original design a darker theme would've worked but now it's a quite different game.

And congratulations on your 3000 posts!

Borderlands artwork is groovy But is this game an actually RPG/FPS hybrid is it primarily an FPS with some RPG elements tacked on?

It is primarily an FPS with some RPG elements. You can upgrade your weapons and vehicles, take missions, gain levels and stuff, read this site. Oh, and there will be more than 17,750,000 guns in it.

The sickle is facing the wrong way - it's angled outwards and only the inside of it has a cutting edge - so it couldn't have made the cut as rendered. /coughs and adjusts his glasses and pocket protector

That's one way to do it and I think it's bound to look great.

Take another look and you'll see the sickle is double edged.

Disagree, would look rather bland and uninspiring, IMO, especially since the Deus Ex 3 logo isn't exactly mind-blowing. But it should definitely not involve something like Alex posing in combat or something, it should be heavily thematic, like Deus Ex's cover.

Like Denton. We all tried to forget him but I guess I have to learn to live with the memories.

I'm guilty, this must be the fourth I mixed up Adam for Alex.

Yeah, I'm guilty of that too... just don't get confused with Garrett and Barrett.

I like simplicity too especially because it often gives a darker, more serious tone to the game itself. A too much detailled box art looks like not as serious. However when well used, detailed box can add something very emotionnal.

Examples of boxes I pretty like :

I loved the Portal Game for its atmosphere. The feeling of being a guinea pig has never been so strong before...

Beautifull and poetic, the box of Black & White 2 is a great piece of art perfectly describing what awaits us in the game.

Fahrenheit, known as Project Indigo in USA. A very good game for a box looking like a movie poster.

Ecco the Dolphin, one of my top video games in history. I miss a sequel to DOTF...

Myst was a shock for me, Riven a massive blow. Today it still remains my favorite.

Atlantis, game from the now deceaced french developper Cryo. A great Myst-Like game filled with unique atmosphere and great music.
