Default Happy Birthday Jim Lee

I'm sure you're all aware of the legendary artist Jim Lee.
He's a huge figure in the Batman Universe and Comics in general.

Today, 11th of August, is Jim Lee's 44th Birthday.
Me and Drazar thought it would be nice to make a little appreciation thread for a lot of peoples favourite artist.

Post pictures by him or anything Related to Jim lee
You can also send him a tweet over twitter to say happy birthday,
(Just type "@jimlee00 [And then your message]" onto your twitter page)

Jim Lee is just too great. Even in All Star Batman and Robin, a book most reviled, he is a shining beacon. He even subtlely changes his regular Batman design to make it closer to Frank Miller's version in that book.

Class act.

Here are a few Youtube vids that I find very informative, showing him doing a drawing from start to finish, with his narration:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pb4PAMZ0HqE

And here he is with Stan Lee in an 8 part series:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SyJ2Iu3YQXQ
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kygMLl60Bt4

Here are a few sketches he did at conventions:

jim lee is the reason i started drawing. his work is so frikkin amazing and his attention to detail is superb (like the fact that he makes nightwing look leaner and more flexible than batman because he is an acrobat).

I'm always impressed with how Lee draws chests. Emphasis on big rigcages with understated abs. Beats the hell out of those who draw two big pecs and six circles for abs, IMO. Gives an old-world aesthetic to it. The way he draws Batman, it's believable that he's wearing tights because of the lack of contours and the simplicity. But it's also believable that he's wearing armour underneath, again because of the simplicity.

Hell, he even makes Robin look cool.

Damn Drazer, that Joker is really different. But again, it's set in Frank Miller's universe, and in TDKR Joker was a big guy. So I just think it looks pretty cool.

yes jim lee is a massive figure in wildstorm in which they drew the prototype comic

he's awesome. i never really appreciated comics for their artwork, i just loved the gripping storys they had.
but jim lee's work started to make me stop reading the plot for a while and glare at the image for longer. plus his work is so angular.
but jim
if youre listening
please make batmans fins longer! hehe, my only con. i swear
