Next Tomb Raider: Title Ideas.

Tomb Raider: 2012 that's my idea. I think that the storyline focusing on the end of the world that is foreseen to happen in December 2012 is very interesting.

Some time ago, before TRU was announced, I came up with with a fanfic about Lara seeking the Mayan Calendar, thanks to which the end of the world could be held back.

Noo I didn't publish my fanfic anywhere, I didn't even finished it. It was just an idea, a concept. My story was entirely focused on Mayan Calendar, which in my imaginiation was a huge, floating piece of land with markings on it. It was hidden under this giant waterfall and Lara needs to explore the caves of this waterfall and start a mechanism for the calendar to raise from the deep water. Blah, blah, blah

So you see that my idea was a bit different, and there's no way CD could have stolen it from me.

But in order to come up with a title, we need to have a better idea of what the story will be about. Unless we're just supposed to make up the story for the titles we want. Like if we name it;

Tomb Raider: Resurrection
Tomb Raider: Salvation
Tomb Raider: Portal
Tomb Raider: Vengeance

But I guess what I mean is, without some semi-official word from Eidos about the next story which we're supposed to base it on as a guidline, it all seems pretty arbitrary, and unstructured as a "game". Sorry if I'm the buzzkill here

One cannot come up with a title, UNLESS they know the plot/story line. It's useless to come up with something now, and end up finding out it doesn't suit the story.

lol yeah its pointless to try and think of a title for something without knowing what it's about. by the time they start releasing info on the storyline for the next game, they'll probably already have a title. unless they already know what the plot is going to be, and they've thought of a title and just haven't decided to tell us yet. we may never know! :-P

Yes, as has been said we can't come up with an apropriate title witout knowing the basis of the plot. We could guess the plot or come up with our own. A lot of people includidng me have made fanfics for the next game, heck NatlaUnleahed94 is working on a complete game idea including controls.

Otherwise we could say the requirements for a title even though how very few there are. I'd say a singular worrd would suit, following suit of Legend, Anniversary and Underworld. I think it should be about the myth/artifact/power that the game revolves around, like Underworld.
