quad bike racetrack & key in TR3

what condition causes the Racetrack key to be in the inventory at the start of the training level? i always played this game on my PS and had to forage (or cheat) for access to the racetrack, but recently i bought the platinum PC version and noticed this isn't the case on this platform. i did the usual hunt for the key, but when i went swimming for it, i couldn't find it. i checked my inventory and it was already there, and on subsequent reloads of the level, it's always there.

carrying out the hunt for the key is somewhat unrewarding when you do all that stuffing around and it's not in the aquarium anyway. at least the fish are pretty, i spose.

Or, easier, climb up to the roof & go down that way to the race track...

I have no idea why you have it in your inventory, have you tried several times? Is it always there? Maybe someone else knows?

thanks for replying, Solange. i was wondering if others have it from the start too, but i can see now that's not strictly the case.

i quit to the main title screen and Windoze a couple of times, but back in the training level the key is in the inventory right at the start.

it's not a fatal situation, just something that's got me a little curious.

I went hunting for the key, too, only to find it wasn't there because it was already in Lara's inventory. There was a patch going around to do that, so I probably installed it and forgot about it.

I remember finding it in the Aquarium. It was there and i picked it up... oh yes, and then I couldn;t find the exit and drowned... but when I reloaded Lara's home it was in my inventory, so I suppose this is normal. But I did did pick it up the first time...

hmm, thanks peoples. who knows, it could be something as simple as one of my housemates playing the training level before i did and finding the key. thanks for the input.
