OBELISK OF KHAMOON: Double Pole Swing from HELL!

Okay, when you get to the top of the first big column room, after Artifact no. 1 and killing the cat mummy, there are these two pole swings over a small pit that lower themselves the second you land on them. Lara is supposed to jump from one to the other and then to the scarab spring immediately without ever swinging, but I've had her try it about 20 times now and just can't master it. Is there a trick to this "instant jumping"?

Yeah, that's just one of the frustrating moments of TRA. Try tapping the jump button fast before you reach the pole and repeat, that could help.

What's the challenge in tapping fast?

Tried everything, timing just before, and just after, grabbing the pole. But no, nothing with timing, just tapping

TRA is my favorite out of all the games, however it is one of the most stressful. You press a button so she can grab onto something as she is in the air and she doesn't or she lets go for some reason. I found myself yelling at her a lot.
