The new loading zones should be seamless. Id est, you never see the loading screen when you approach zone boundary, nor will you see any of that blue mist. So you can stop hating them now.

In TRU, if you got choppy frame rate when playing at or just bellow minimum specs, you would get a lag when approaching a zone boundary. I don't think anything EM does will change that.

EM has done a lot of optimization work on the engine. So it will be capable of a lot more on the same specs. But I also expect T4 levels to be far more complex than these in TRU, so the minimum specs are likely to be higher than these of TRU in the end. But I don't know anything to tell me even roughly by how much.

One thing that you should expect to stay is Shader requirement. If your graphics card can't run Shader 3, you will not be running T4. But if you own a desktop and your other requirements are met, you would be able to buy a card in $50-$100 range for the game to run with.

Keep in mind that I'm extrapolating all of this from a few things I know about TRU engine, general knowledge of graphics engines, and assumption that T4 will run on the same base engine as DX3.

The only thing TRU requires is memory. It somehow manages to eat up 1G of memory for absolutely nothing, and thus makes the game freeze every couple of minutes for a long period, to allow the system to catch up. But between these episodes the game runs fine. My piece-taff laptop had 2Gb memory when my desktop PC still had only 1Gb, and TRU ran more smoothly on the laptop. (By more smoothly I mean, on my desktop the game freezes every once in a while, but on my laptop the game at least holds a steady, stuttering and pathetic framerate, and doesn't freeze. )

I upgraded from 1Gb DDR2 to 3Gb DDR3 and no problems anymore. (Except with Crysis because i used to be able to run it on High settings, now I can't run it even barely on Low. )
