Question Whos your favorite villian and why?

Since Batman has so many villians I'm wanting to see which one is your favorite and why they are. My favorites are the Joker and the Riddler. I think I like the Joker because he is psychoatic and he lacks motives for what he does. I also think I like him because he is unpredictable and hard to figure out. I think I like the Riddler because he is intelligent and he just interests me.

Actually Joker's motivation is power and respect through that, and snapping out Batman.

I like the mafia alike villains alot such as Two-Face, Black Mask and event he Joker includes here.

Yeah I guess those are his main motivations. Two-Face and Black Mask are both pretty cool too.

Thing about Two-Face is that he barely gets the justice side on the coin, which is really ashame because there are alot of well written stories where he gets the justice side. For example he crashes into Jim Gordon's birthday party and is about to kill him, but gets the good side and thus he congratulates him and locks himself up in Arkham.

Its like Joker crying in "Joker" graphical novel. Alot of people need to remember he is a total psychopath whos mood swings way too much, so why don't we ever see him sad? Its one of those aspects i wish from a psychological point of view to be shown more. ^^

Man-Bat at the moment.

I think it's pretty great seeing a man who dresses as a bat go against a man who mutate's into a bat, and the fact that Man-Bat is this beastly creature is pretty cool. This aspect can allow him to come off as an intimidating and really dangerous character. He also prove's a decent challenge for the Batman.

Joker for Obvious reasons that were listed above

Jason Todd because he makes sense...he does what Batman wants to do but never wil, but in the end thats the only way to make sure you don't end up putting the same villains away for years like Bruce has been doing. He's like Batman with no morals, which is a scary thing.

I'd have to say my favorite is the riddler. i don't know why but it's always fun to see him. maybe it was because of Jim Carreys portrayal of the riddler that made him my favorite.

Scarecrow!

He is the essence of fear which is what both him and Batman use as a weapon. He's more of a psychological villain which is probably why i like him so much

I have always had a love for the Joker, even before Ledger's stunning performance, but he seems to be the generic choice nowadays.

Excluding him, I love the Penguin and Mad Hatter. There's just something inately creepy about the both of them; I think the paedophile aspect of Mad Hatter is something that makes him really sinister, which is why I hope they'll include him in the next Batman movie - he fits with the dark, nastier new mood Nolan has created (I'm also waiting for pigs to fly).

I love the Penguin because of his appearance; a squat, ugly man who has more in common with Batman than just the fact they both have alias' after birds. Both of them have access to advanced technology. Both of them are stupidly rich. Both of them are a master in a martial art (The Penguin's being Judo). I just love the whole concept, although I'm not to keen on the early, purple top hat donning version.

Scarecrow hands down. When I saw "Batman Begins" it was the first ever time I had seen the Scarecrow. At first I thought he was not a very good villain, until now when I am older to fully understand the character more. If there is any villain I really hope to see (besides Two Face ) I hope it is the Scarecrow.

i'm new to this forum, so first of all : HI EVERYONE!
i quoted you, because i like your picks a lot and would've said almost the same thing about both characters.
i still think some writers could make the penguin a bit more dangerous. sometimes he's portrayed as a weak laughing stock, which he shouldn't be, because i think it's way cooler to see him as an underestimated guy, who can become very wicked.

i also like harley quinn, because it's just fun to see her coming into dangerous situations with this carefree attitude and of course her whole character is very two-sided.

other villains i like are the joker (i think nearly every bat-fan likes him), the scarecrow & killer croc (because they're such dark characters) and poison ivy (she combines beauty with all this creepy plant stuff)

i actually like a lot of the batman villains, but i think these are some of the coolest. i don't like the riddler and mr.freeze so much, because they're often a bit lame to me, though i like freeze's dramatic fate. and i don't like villains with superpowers combined with batman-stories. luckily there aren't that many in the batman universe

Funnilt enough, I would agree with most of what you say

I concur, writers could make the Penguin a lot more dangerous; he is a lot more vicious and psychotic than he is sometimes made out to be.

I like the Riddler though; the fact that he is non-violent and is really intelligent. This is one aspect of Batman: Arkham Asylum that I'm going to love; the riddles.

Although, as the forum will tell you, I agree with your views on Mr. Freeze - I hate that villain

yeah, i think for a game this whole riddles-thing should be very cool and it's not that i hate the riddler or something like that...he just isn't one of my top-favorites.

and i just realised i said i dislike superpowers combined with batman-stories and mentioned poison ivy as one of the characters i like. i think she is some kind of exception to me. i just often dislike those multi-hero-stories, where green lantern or someone helps out batman and then those supervillains show up and stuff like that.
i just think they don't fit too well in the batman-universe.
