I went to a midnight showing and I thought the movie was pretty decent. Wasn't as wowing as I'd hoped, but it was good. I too have always hated the epilogue

Yeah, that would be cool, but I don't really see it happening... I read on another forum someone saying that The RE CGI movie and the FF ones weren't that big of a success (in terms of profit)...

I'm willing to give this new live-action movie a chance! The writers are good and they seem to have a good general direction of what they want to do with the movie. All I ask is a decent actress, that not only looks the part, but that can actually act!!!

No she's too girly-looking. Not that Lara should look like a man by no means. But Lara should have a more edgy face like this girl:
(click image to enlarge) It almost looks Lara inspired! She also has that 'british' look to her I don't know what it is...

I want to focus on the new and fresh approach to the franchise.
I get what your saying , it's pretty true because they should be concentrating on the new approach for TR , scrap remaking 2,3,4 lol , better to see Lara's new adventures , and see what new things she can do !

Still a well done end and fitting enough, I won't doubt that.

On the film note, I watched Psycho (Alfred Hitchcock's, not the remake):

Honestly the best Horror film I've seen to date. Alfred Hitchcock really was brilliant.

With regards to whether or not they should redo the original TRs I am all for it. Mind you I can totally understand the point of view from those that have played them and feel that redoing them would be a waste of time or some how take something away from the originals. But in my case and what I suspect is the case of a lot of other recent fans, I didn't start playing until TRL and have now played through TRA and TRU. I loved them all, each for there own qualities TRL for the awesome writing and general storyline, TRA for the foundation I missed by not having played the originals and IMO the best game play of the three, and TRU for wonderfully weaving the prior two into a seamless storyline and an end to the trilogy that created a sense of closure, not to mention some cool new physical abilities that made it feel just that much more real.

That said I keep wanting to see more of the background and in general just get to see what the other games were about. Several of them intrigued me based on story alone and I really want to play them. I have looked over and over again at them on ebay or amazon and thought of ordering them but what always stops me is one of two things. 1 they have to be played on pc and while I have a fine set up to do so with a computer connected to my 50 inch tv, I prefer to play this kind of game on my xbox, so I don't have to deal with a keyboard on my lap and a mouse on my armrest. 2 I can't get past the graphics. I try and try to get past that one knowing that for the time they were great but having now played the others I can't help thinking, man, what did everyone see in this thing. I didn't play many computer games when these first came out so I don't have a lot of familiarity with the advancements that were being made at the time and now that I have been spoiled it is so hard to go back. For these reasons I would love to see the revisits even though I too agree that with the recent direction the game has taken that it is very unlikely and would seem a little out of place. I do think is it doable though, they are after all doing an origins game which allows for the idea of showing some kind of connection between what stated it all and how she got to where she is today, or, if nothing else you separate it from the current TR games like they did with GOL and make it kind of its own little thing. I wouldn't even have to have the time and money they are putting into TR9, just something like TRA or U would be great.

Also I agree with something I read that someone posted back in May, I think the storyline of TRA, TRL, and TRU would make a great little movie. Either CGI like some people are talking about or something like that. I have been trying to get my father to watch me play through the three because he too is interested in the story but not so good at the game play and gets frustrated too easily (ie. after the 3rd or 4th time he has fallen into a pit or had to climb up the same cliff). Problem is as good as I am, even better with the cheats, it still takes me a while to get through it and lets face it, watching someone play a game is no where near as much fun as playing it. So here we are, months later and we still haven't gotten all the way through TRA because he gets board, we want to long to get back to it, have to repeat half of what I have done and then before I know it he is getting board again . I would love to be able to just watch a movie depicting the story with him.

Well, next competition won't be so easy, you'll have to be an active forum member, I think

Man, I had the same problem at first, tho not with graphics per se, just everything else. My first TR was "Legend" as well, and going from all the acrobatics moves she does in that game to the basic walk-run-jump-shimmy of the old school TR's was quite a shock. I actually had to not play any of the PS2 era TR games for a couple of days just to "unspoil" myself a bit so it wasn't as shocking. It worked for me, but tho since I've playd the older games there's still a degree of shock upon the first fireup. It's gotten easier to handle, tho.

Oh, and "Hello!" and "Welcome to the forums!" to all the new members. Gosh, it's like we grew 10,000 strong overnight or something. Hope to see you all in convos!

Ladies and Gentlemen, last night, after working on it off and on for about 7 months or so and shedloads of frustration, I got 100% CLEARED on "GTA: San Andreas". Took me so long because I got distracted with other games quite a bit, and there's just SO MUCH you have to do for it, and it's usually repeatative (and therefore boring after a bit) stuff. But, it's done. "Top man, Winter! What were the hardest parts?" you ask? It's a tie between all the races and trying to track down all the oysters, horseshoes, pics, and tags. I tried finding those various collectables w/o using a map provided here on the net. That lasted for about a month, then I finaly cracked and gave in. The taxi cab missions got old fast as well.

@WinterSoldier - Bloody hell. I don't think I've ever managed a game 100%, except maybe Underworld (mainly as it was straight forward.

I also visited me old Primary school yesterday for the laugh to see me old teachers (after leaving almost nine years ago). But the thing was I lost count of how many times I was told "Christ, how much weight have you lost?" ... Then you get congratulated...

Why?

You shouldn't be congratulating me for doing something that was self inflicted.

Yes, this is how my mind works, ah well, the random outburst.

Ah, but a competition with for example just 5 people entering and a whopping 20% chance of winning isn't really a competition, is it?

Don't feel too bad, this is just the first in a series of forum competitions. The next one will indeed be more restricted PLUS will have even better prize(s) than this one

I can't reveal the terms of the next one yet, but suffice to say that active members will stand a better chance of winning than "1 post drive-by's"

Hehe, congrats

It also took quite some frustration for me to get 100% in SA. IIRC, the most frustrating bits were the fire brigade missions. Those damn people kept on running away from me and climbing onto hills where I couldn't reach them, arrgg.

And then there was the half-pipe mission at the back of the garage where you have to jump with a motorbike to get a whole bunch of rings in the air in a ridiculous short amount of time. I must've attempted that mission like 50 times before getting it....that one really drove me bonkers

But completing it felt very rewarding in the end, though

Hey that's cool! TRA looks totally different on 360 than PC version. Especially, the water effect. Why couldn't you buy AC?
Edit: I know the answer already.

I guess...

Anyone see the trailer for the new Batman movie? Am I the only one who thinks that every Batman movie sucks (and I mean every movie)? And that Bale is a horrible Batman? And that the suit is horrible?

@Driber yeah the "ring missions" as I call them all frustrated me quite a bit. Especially the one where you're on a bicycle in Los Santos, for some reason. But I hated anything to do with a bike, really. It wasn't until I got stamina maxed out that bicycle bits were manageable. But I'm not a fan of racing games, so those were ultimately my personal biggest challenge. I'm sure I'd have loved them if I were a racing game fan. I'll admit tho: that's what I dig the most most about "San Andreas". There's so many different types of games within it. With the arcade games you can play in the bars and clubs in it, I dare say it's got every genre covered, except for survival horror.

@Angelus Didn't know there was a preview for the next Batman flick out already. I'll have to look into that. I like Bale, personaly. Keaton was Batman when I was a kid, so he's the Batman I grew up with and therefore will always be the best IMO, but Bale does pretty good. But honestly I've been a fan of Bale's since "American Psycho", so I'm a little biased on that. I like all the flicks, but a couple of them are overrated, IMO. Especialy "The Dark Night". Yeah, Ledger was worth the price of admission alone, and it was a good flick, but it wasn't THAT good. I'm sure it wouldn't have done as well financially if Ledger hadn't died when he did.
