Default No Riddler?

I just finished reading the post from X-plays GDC and it states that the riddler will not actually be in the game, only referenced towards. This is interesting because most people, including myself, thought there was enough evidence for him to be in the game.

Well it said he'd be a metaphor for the unlockables, so apparently he's messed with your Batcomputer and encrypted your data. But, I guess that's fine with me as long as they add more villains. I suppose this version is more of the pacifest like in Loeb's "Long Halloween" and "Dark Victory".

Do you think riddler would fit this setting?

Most interpretations of him involve Batman going to a certain place for a clue. Arkham is big but it would not have as many resources and the clues will be found quickly.

Riddler might stay out of this one.
Maybe as a bonus feature and dlc or sequel after Joker is thwarted Riddler places an even bigger threat on the city and in this game he leaves clues and you end up solving his scheme.

Riddler has always been a cool villain, if you think about DLC they could do anything, maybe make an add-on chapter containing the Riddler, he isn't exactly brawling chracter like Killer Croc, Joker, or Penguin even, he could still be really cool if they do him right. I have the Six Flags plastic Riddler Cane, some people call that stupid, but it's cool.

The fact that the riddler is not a brawling character makes him an even better fit in this game. The developers even said that they wanted the boss battles to test every aspect of batman, not just his fighting ability. I'm not even a huge riddler fan and I think he would have been great in this game.

True, maybe have a Batman writer come in and help them with riddles to test your mind to go back to different points in Arkham, your right it would fit, I can't believe I didn't see it before.

Ya he is sort of still in the game, it just would have been better to fight/encounter him in person.

Yeah, he would probably make my head hurt with the riddles so it would feel good to bust him in the jaws, but I guess i'll never experience that ,

Unless the make him DLC. Which I would love, and buy no matter the price, preferably around ten dollars.

Not to toot my own horn but I posted a link to the new IGN GDC review and it reveals that "See, throughout the game you're going to come across more than 200 Riddler challenges such as finding information and trinkets strewn around the prison. When you accomplish these you're going to unlock FreeFlow Combat and Invisible Predator challenges."

So there you have it.

Ya I saw that you posted that, I just thought the fact that the riddler is not in this game deserved its own thread.

To be honest I'm not really surprised he's not in it. When I first saw his cell I just thought it was a little fun for us to see not to fight or w/e. Oh well.
