Hello, I finally managed to get sr working on xp and now I have problem playing it with Gamepad.
The problem is when I try moving raziel with analog sticks, Raziel seems to enter "always run" mode, he just keeps running until i plug off gamepad. the rest of the buttons work fine, I can even control him using analogue stick, change direction etc, but he just keeps on running. I want to play through all games second time, just finished playing BL1 with no gamepad probs. if there is any way to get sr working on gamepad plz tell me, last time i played it with kb and it was nightmare. PS my copy of raziel has never seen the "Forest Gump" movies, so thats not the issue. |

I had the same problem too - turning off the analogue should fix it, you canīt play with the sticks though..

I had the same problem, I think it is because an analogue stick can never be perfectly calibrated and therefore will alway send out a signal, programs supporting analogue sticks ignore this signal, but older programs consider it as input (which would also explain the reason that the movies are skipped).
My "solution" was (it worked with my gamepad and computer, but I can imagine that it doesn't work with all gamepads): when you want to stop moving, just use the right analogue stick briefly (I think it wasn't mapped to any controls), or touch a button (I used camera control buttons for this, but I think any button will do). Raziel should stop moving until you move him yourself (after that he will keep on running as described again). I know it's not a very good solution (it is inconvenient even if it works), but you could try it if you're unable to turn of the analogue sticks. |

there was a analogue disabling button on my pad
I thought it turned off the gamepad. Game was so much easier with pad I jumped through the rafters in abandoned abbey in one try. It was a nightmare on keyboard.

). I am using a wired Xbox 360 controller.Though I was able to make Raziel stop running and move properly by mapping my controller through JoyToKey, the game still detects slight jitter as input, which affects menu scrolling and, much more importantly, movie skipping. I have never played SR before, so seeing the movies is very important to me. So is having a controller, though, I really don't think I'll play through this or any 3d action/platformer on my keyboard, but I'm fresh off of BO, and would like to continue the series. Is there any way I can get around this at all? 360 controllers have no option to deactivate analog input, and even though I can make JoyToKey ignore jitter-level analog input for SR's movement keys (which is a great fix if you don't care about movies), the game still picks it up in general and skips all the videos. Please, anyone, suggestions? I'd really appreciate it. Thanks. |

The only way I see to fix the "running in circles" problem is that you should get a controller which enables to turn the analogue sticks off, otherwise I donīt think thereīs a way..

That was years ago, though. Once I got the game running on a good computer with a gamepad controlling Raziel, it was a breeze.

I actually have fixed the "running in circles" problem. As I wrote, I used JoyToKey to map keyboard commands to my 360 controller, then turned the analog stick sensitivity down a bit, and now Raziel moves around just fine. Trouble is, even though the game ignores analog jitter for the purposes of his movement, it still picks it up in general and skips all of the movies. I don't think I can fix that with J2K. ![]() I know I probably will ultimately need another controller (sigh), I'm just hoping there's an outside chance that somebody here has a solution. After all, a lot of people use Xbox 360 gamepads on their PC's, so maybe someone has come up with a fix. |

And worse comes to worse, all of the movies, I believe, are on YouTube. If the fix doesn't help for some reason.

and all other movies are played at the end of the game. to keep it spoiler free. at the very end of the game, when you are about to meet final boss, on his way down the hall, raz stops near windows with lots of stars in it. they show him visions of past, future, present , giant killer pie etc. you can play these movies with "Eidos Escape Player". videos are on game CD i think.you can watch them after you have completed the game,or when you reach those doorways with stars. all other story scenes are done inside the game, by ingame cutscenes. even "outro" is done using game engine. so if you have seen first intro movie skipping them is not a problem. |

Thanks wrace. I actually had read through that thread to get my game working properly (so, thanks again), and followed all of its steps except for that last one, where I stopped and told myself that I didn't know the first thing about hex editing and that maybe I should just leave it alone. After which I promptly forgot about it. But I went back and tried it just now per your suggestion, wrace, and it fixed things perfectly. Guess that's why it was posted as a fix. Thanks for unknowingly being patient with me. Thanks to everybody else who posted other suggestions and the movie start points as well. If things hadn't come around with the gamepad/movie compatibility, I would have taken that advice and either used either YouTube or Escape Player, so I appreciate it. |

Fortunately for you, there are still lots of other JTK videos to look at; I just don't know which ones are going to be the most helpful. I suggest looking at the search results for: "joytokey 360" or "joytokey setup" Not that you're limited to YouTube. I'm sure Google has plenty of tutorials about how to configure JoyToKey for use with an Xbox 360 controller. One last important thing. You need to either be using a wired Xbox 360 controller or a wireless Xbox 360 controller with the Wireless PC Adapter. If you're trying to use a wireless Xbox 360 controller with the Play and Charge cord or something like that, it won't work; you'll have to buy the PC Adapter. Good luck, be sure to check out lots of those videos. Hope you can get it working. |

Same goes for the gargoyales that you must leap across in the next section, after the hallway with the two Rahabim. And, incidentally, this works for the rafters in Vorador's Mansion in Legacy of Kain Defiance, at the section where you have to get to the light/dark orbs across the ceiling.

Hello.
I had a pleasant experience playing the GOG SR1 version on Win7 with this ![]() Everything worked like a charm. Just a very slight lag input, but that's more dependent upon the PC configuration rather then a game.
