Arrow Underworld PC Version

Hello!
I just have a question for anyone who is a gaming expert or plays a lot of games and has Lara Croft Underworld (PC). I've been wanting to own this game myself and was thinking about getting it for Christmas but I don't play many games so I was just wondering if Underworld is still as good quality and fun to play on a PC or laptop as it is on other gaming consoles. I have all the right requirements for Underworld so that aspect shouldn't be a problem.. Did you enjoy Underworld? Is it well worth the money?
Thanks!!!

yea that image is artwork. The PC version has issues just as the other versions. It's still possible to get to the end of the game. There's no replay value, so don't excpect the game to last longer than 2-3 days. Maybe a week if you decide to collect all treasures.

The PC version seem to be cheaper than the console versions, I bought mine for 35$. I still feel it's a pretty heavy sum of such a short game with no replay value. Still it's more acceptable than paying 60$ for the console version. I think the PC version of TRU will probably drop to 15-20$ sooner or later, just like Crysis which is another really short game. But at least that game has multiplayer once you're done with the very short single player mode.

Before you purchase the game, make sure to read about the mexico ramp bug & losing important items in your backpack in Mexico. Those are bugs that will make it impossible to complete the game using your original save. You're gonna have to use someone else's save to get past these issues if you run into them.

Underworld ran fine on my system, but it's a medium fast system, Intel Core 2 X6800 at 2.93ghz, ATI Radeon HD4870 video card, and Sound Blaster X-Fi. I ran it at 1600x1200 or 1280x960 (my monitor is a 20" viewable CRT).

Underworld may not have been the longest TR game (that was probably TR4 with it's 35 levels), but I still liked it. Compared to TRA or TRL, TRU had more of the feel of the older games, less focus on Lara's new moves, and more about the exploring.

Underworld was a good fun game; replay value is based on your determination to find the treasures more than anything else.
If you have a gamepad it would play as nicely as it would on a console.

i don't know about any differences in gameplay or anything between pc and other consoles. so aslong as you have the requirements (which you say you do) it should be great.

as for replay value, i've just loved it so much i've played it five tiimes since getting it only last thursday

So.. When you say that the PC version has issues like other versions can that stop you from completing the game, what sort of issues are they? I wouldn't of thought they would be that major =S I'll read up on that Mexico thing, thanks =) Oh and also, when you say it has no replay value, do you mean that you didn't really want to play it again? ..Sorry i'm not a huge gamer xD Does TR Underworld actually have levels then? If so, how many?
Thanks to everyone who has answered questions, you've been great help!

Control configuration seemed not to work properly to me, and it refused to use the third fourth and fifth button on my mouse. Other than that I had no problems.

l actually found it more fun to play on the PC than the Xbox 360 once l managed to get a few fixes for some hardware issues. Being able to use modded outfits on the PC is also an advantage, as is the ease of downloading savegames if you ran into trouble, or making your own in multiple places so you can rewatch the cutscenes, as well as replay areas of interest. A laptop is not the best thing to play next gen games on though, due to over heating problems, l would make sure you meet the recommended requirements to run the game before buying Underworld.

You do not have to use anyone else's save if you take the time to save the game yourself at the beginning of each chapter, it is only that so many could not be bothered doing that that they needed to download save games. Always in the old Tomb Raider games you needed to save frequently or you were going to end up repeating things a lot, nothing has changed.

l have played the game a fair bit on PC in a variety of ways and once on XBox 360, never lost any items, never ran into any serious glitches. l had one small glitch on the 360 that l had to kill Lara to correct.

I played the PC version and it's fine. It's somewhat cheaper than the console issue but you want to make sure your PC meets the requirements, AND check the 'FAQ's' in the technical forum to make sure your video card isn't on the list of cards that give trouble. If you have a certain series of cards, you will get a 'false positive' on whether you can expect to run the game without issue, so be sure to check that list.

Ohh I just have one more question for anyone who can answer..
What is the difference between TRU and TRU Exclusive Limited Edition?
The website I found the Exclusive Limited Edition one on is the "GAME" website so I'm not sure if it is just that shop that sells it.. GAME is a games shop in the UK so I'm not sure if people in other countries will know about this version of Underworld. But if anyone knows then that would be great, thanks

I completely disagree. xHello0123 said he/she doesn't play a lot of games, so I really don't think he/she is going to finish the game in 2-3 days.
Even if playing all day long, which is not fun at all..
