My rant/question is does anyone in the gaming world know why anyone hasnt picked up the Gangsters organized crime series? This my be a little before some peoples time, but they were good premise games. Besides Mafia (which was GTA in 1920's if ya ask me, which isnt strategy but the only recent gangster era game) there hasnt been any developers willing to take on a 1920-30's ganster strategy games. I really "ticks" me off because developers have made a million WW2, Medevil , and other timeline games, but they seem to have abstained from really digging into the gangster prohabiton era. Why is that, is it $? If ganster games dont sell, I'd understand just tell me. Now this is what "ticks" me off Gangsters organized crime series came out in 1998 so did the Fallout series. Betheseda was willing to pick up a old title and try and resurrect it. Not to say the same for gangsters thought. Also if any ex-hothouse employees see this please reply.I doubt they will tho......you guys were the minds behind that game.

Hi there and a (very belated), welcome to Eidos forums
I'm afraid I have no knowledge of the games you refer to as I am largely a Tomb Raider fan. However, on the topic of gangster games I do have a question for you. Have you ever tried out the Godfather game? It was heavily advertised a few years ago but until now I had totally forgotten about it. I'd be interested in hearing any reviews from gamers. Oh and as this is a family site, you may want to edit your post my friend and at the very least edit out your swear words (Some of us find it a bit too offensive ).

I edited it. Sorry about that. To answer your question yes, I have played the godfather games, but those arnt the type of genre (Strategy) the gangsters series was. The reason im on this site is because Eidos Interactive was the publisher for the series and Houthouse (developer) went under. If any people with power in Eidos can answer "Would you ever work on Gansters 3?". I'd love to hear it.

I played gangsters OC, but in my opinion, the second one was a bit dull. The first one was quite deep, but with the sequal they tried to make the learning curve less steep and in the process ruined the game.

Hi, thanks for the edit firstly, much appreciated and good luck with your enquiry I take it the Godfather then is not strategical. I usually have a tendency to wait a few years for a game to come down in price incase it turns out to be a bit of a turkey! I had visited the official site but hadn't read too many reviews due to the fact there weren't many out at the start. You sound like you may enjoy games such as the Risk type games. My older brother is a strategy gamer - he plays on the PC platform and usually plays games that run from an aerial view as opposed to first or third person. I did used to have the Thief game (which one I can't remember), which was quite strategic but I couldn't really get on with it. I'm guessing you may have played it? I may go over to IMDb and have a look - I often forget that it reviews games and not just movies so there may well be a board on that Godfather game. Anyway, I hope you find your answers and sorry if I ran a little off topic
