Default Tomb Raider Price !

Alright , I don't know if TRU has a normal next-gen PC price in other countries but here in SA it is LUDACROUS !
The Rand (south african currency) is trading at about $1 = R7 . Usually a good next-gen PC title costs at a pre-order price R305 . On shelf about R350 .
I know that TRU is going to be an amazing game but it better be the best game ever known becasue at a pre-order it costs R405 !
I pre-ordered Spore Galactic Edition (with alot of fancy goodies) for less .
It isn't even a special edition and it costs more .

Views from other countries please , is the price also a big blow to the wallet ?

For a moment I read: 'Tomb Raider Rice'....? Wow, little rice grains with the Tr logo... cool.

Anyway: it costs 50 euros for pc here, and 65 for Ps3 & Xbox. Its a lot of money yes, but its not more expensive than any other game.

Well I took at look five different sites which should be well known to everyone who lives in the UK and I found some interesting things.

Bare in mind I have only specifically looked at Playstation 3 but the Xbox 360 prices are the same.

Gamestation

Link to Gamestation

Price: £39.99

Opinion

It's not your best deal in all honesty. I would recommend not buying the game from Gamestation. It's a standard deal and you get nothing extra. You could find a better deal elsewhere.

See below for better deals

Game

Link to Game

Price: £39.99
Price for Special Edition: £49.99

Opinion

My opinion still stands for the standard game. Search around and you will find a better deal.

As for the special edition, it is mostly down to opinion. I would presume - as it looks as though it is just the same as the Anniversary edition - that you would of seen 75% of the media included on the disk.

However, if you want these fancy wallpapers and trailers on a CD then so be it. I believe that an extra £10 for it all is not worth it in the end. I wasn't impressed with the Anniversary edition as I don't think you'll be getting value for money.

This would be great for those who haven't signed up to the official forums as everything would be new to them media wise.

Tesco

Link to Tesco

Price: £39.97

Opinion

2p knocked off what Game and Gamestation are asking. However, I believe it is better than nothing and is probably Tesco's way of saying, look we are cheaper than Game and Gamestation.

Yes, cheaper than those, but are you cheaper than the next one I am about to show?

The answer is no.

Asda

Link to Asda

Price: £34.91

Opinion

Great deal. If you are looking for the standard Tomb Raider Underworld game then go here. It's a bit pleasing than Tesco's knock off 2p stunt. It has my recommendation.

Play.com

Link to Play.com

Price: £39.99

This comes included with a FREE artbook

Opinion

Good price. I would consider buying this as the artbook looks pretty intriguing. I would suggest those looking for a bit extra with their Underworld game should have a look at this offer. It has my recommendation.

Overall

You want to keep your eyes on Asda and Play.com. They will make your money go further guaranteed.

Hope this has helped the people in UK.

Surprisingly it wasn't that long. Their websites are really easy to navigate. I would of got one for Morrisons as well but their website was like trying to find a needle in a hay stack.
