Since the thread is to introduce ourselves and all........

My real name,I prefer to keep under wraps since I find it both insulting and embaressing, but I go by the nickname J.t. the initals for my name. I live on a somewhat secluded island, since you have to cross a few brides to get here and all. The youngest woman out here, may and I repeat may be 50 at best. Being a contractor, I do all kinds of things, land clearing, tree removal, even demoing buildings, by the way the crappy metal they put on those square collums ? Real easy way to get yourself a new scar,as I found out first hand from the last job.And yes a jack hammer is noisey and heavy, try useing one to rip up tile in an enclosed space and you`ll soon find yourself deaf as a post.

How do you activate the burst system on the shotgun? I've tried pressing the interact button like it says in the description but nothing happens. Bug maybe?

Would be much easier to make and would work significantly better if it were a bracelet as opposed to a ring. A ring is just too small to be practical.

Enable the player to shut it. What does Adam use it for? the HuD? see through walls?
I think its the former, would be nice to shut down the HuD & see an effect of the glasses open up on the screen.

Welcome Nazo! Avatar and signature are only for Gamer-status members. I think you'll unlock that when you have... over 100 posts? Maybe? The Mods can give you a better answer.

Oh, and dont forget to post your drawings in the Art thread! We always have some fantastic artwork pieces there.

One of the other mods might, because I had absolutely no idea that was the case.

Well to answer some of your questions. Yeah your takedowns are different on a sitting person if you're behind them. Adam does have state of the art augs that can be upgraded to remove the effects of EMP grenades. People do notice if the wall they're leaning on suddenly disappears.

Also I just watched the HR playthrough on Gamespot and finally figured out how to disarm mines. I kept on rushing up to them in the hope of disabling them like in DE1 but it turns out you have to crouch and slowly approach them.

Well you got a Mine Template + a Frag that's quite an expensive reward. And I'm pretty sure augmented enemies are affected by EMP. The wall blowing up bit, that's obviously a rare bug, do you seriously think that happens in every single copy of the game? I did exactly that and the guy obviously noticed

Post My guns! My beautiful, beautiful guns!

Anyone else feel a bit cheated your interactions are limited inside certain areas? You cant shoot, use takedowns or hacking tools, pick up or throw objects, basically you have to be well behaved. Bleugh! Limb clinic and Sarif are totally off limits to my personal style of creative carnage.
I understand story mechanics will be affected at Sarif but the limb clinic to my mind is no more important then the free clinic in Hell's Kitchen at that place got f'd up no end. We could destroy Unatco too so why the cop out? They could have made it work.

You can't say that for sure until you've played the entire game.

You could obliterate much of UNATCO, yes, but then you encounter the ridiculous invincible character situation. Personal preference but I preferred DX:IW's method of putting key story characters behind bulletproof glass or via hologram until such a point as they were disposable. DX:HR's not allowing you to take out your gun near key story characters is a decent enough compromise. The problem with the invincible method is - well, a) it's unrealistic. There's no story reason why Manderley, for instance, would survive a shot to the face. But more importantly, b) there's also no story reason why characters suddenly become...vincible. Post anywhere on the net about killing Navarre on Lebedev's jet and it will always be followed by a post saying "I had know idea you could kill Anna then! I thought she was still invincible". The story decides she is now disposable and loses her invincibility, but from a player point of view there's no reason to assume this is the case. Clearly if you get to boss fight stage (ie. Navarre at UNATCO, Hermann, Simons) then you know from gameplay tropes that the characters are now destroyable, but for me invincible characters take me out of the game a little bit.

All that aside, I believe I've heard that DX:HR does have invincible characters at some points in the game. I can't remember where I read this, but I remember being a little disappointed to hear it.

Are we what we speak if the words spoken are misguided? Are we what we think if what we think our not our thoughts? Are we what we do if what is done is performed without passion?

I am the words that are meticulously chosen, the thoughts that are consciously formulated, and the actions that are choreographically dictated. I am the questions that fuel me, the reflections that shape me, and the passions that drive me. I am Francesco Amati.
