Default SR2 - Stuttering Problems
I am trying to play SR2, which I just found at the bookstore, classic game Anyway, the opening screen the lady is stuttering and after the great initial cutscene the game starts stuttering again. The sound stutters and the game is lagging like you wouldn't beleive. I have a PCI-E ge-force 8600. Any ideas?

Nm... I used the same fix that people were using for SR1, turning off the hardware acceleration. It works great now... wonder why I didn't need to do that for SR1, but I do for SR2?

Well... the music still stutters. It is playable now, although it is very annoying to have the music stuttering. Any ideas?

Do you have it for the PC??? It can also be because of Windows Vista... I had problems with defiance there, but I didn't test SR2 yet...........

It is for the PC, I have windows xp though. I am running off a soundblaster soundcard with the hardware acceleration turned off.

oke, well I played a dutch cover thing edition of Soul Reaver 2 on my older computer with Windows XP and with that one it worked very good. Maybe you should try to have all the default settings....

I lately ordered a new english Soul Reaver 2 (with Manual and stuff ) so if I get the Soul Reaver 2 I will try to use it on my new computer with Vista...... see if it is shocking too....

well I got the new SR2 and I tried a bit of the Sarafan Stronghold and it works fine to me...... I use Vista and I had to install the Official Soul Reaver 2 Patch to let it work... so...

Odd, o well it's great that it works for you. Mine seems to get worse the longer I play, so each time I get near a save point I have to save and restart the game to understand Raziel again. It's not just the music it is the entire sound, has this wierd echo stutter. sigh.

BTW: have you tried to install patches?? My SR2 didn't work at all till I installed the newest patch.........

Yes, I installed the latest patch. I just don't understand it... well I just beat it again and purchased defiance. Hopefully, defiance will run well.

well I am in the future now in SR2, but it sometimes makes strange noice and then the program doesn't work anymore .
Can anyone solve that???

I finished SR2 now, busy already with BO2. I only encountered several (about 3) times that SR2 crashed. It first started to make awfull noices and finally the program was automaticly shuts down. When I play the same thing for the second time it doesn't encounter the problem again..... so this were a few problems, but not something very bad.
