I'm kind of divided about it. On one hand it can prove to be of some tactical value, but on the other hand, it just doesn't seem like something you'd deploy in a game as arcade-y as BSM.

i like the idea to cover the movement of my BB by deploying a smoke screen with my DD but then the tacmap would need some modifications like no direct line of sight for any of your allied units = not displayed on tacmap
so i dont know if ppl would like it or if it is possible to do so but we will see! -=)CSF(=-Haruna |

I have a feeling your radar wouldn't be blocked by the smoke though...wouldn't that complicate things a little?

Smoke screens saved the Tirpitz on may occasions, the day they sunk her, there was a strong wind

How would detection go as to the game knowing which units are under protection of smoke? Would it be units INSIDE the smokescreen, or would it be units behind the screen? And how exactly do you determine which side of the screen is the "front" and "back"?

there is no front or back
it just blockes the line of sight! starting from a point where you activated it following the course of the ship which deployed it and lasting for lets say 30 seconds and because its arcade we dont have to worry about complicated things like radar! |
