Independance!

Kosova finally gets there independance They've been waiting since 1981 for it and it came today We are now free from Serbia (We had a war with them) and now they seem to not approve of it. A war might start but Kosova can be backed up with 600 british troops in a matter of minutes. Not sure if you've heard it on the news but just felt it needed to be shared, and plus My family originates from there

I too hope theres no war but the serbs are boiling with jealously. Its only a matter of time until they do something.

i'm opposed to this because Kosovo is/always was part of Serbia. look it up, as it was on wikipedia before they updated it
but i know afew people that feel the same was as i do about it

He also said that Kosovo was propped up unlawfully by the United States which was "ready to violate the international order for its own military interests."

The Russian Federation called for United Nations Security Council consultations over the independence declaration

You can belive anything you want but yes it WAS a part of Serbia. Now its independant. Some people feel the same way because they're jealous that they don't have control over it no more. And as for Russia, they're on Serbia's side so like yer of course they're going to start hating.
But like I said belive in anything you want. Free will.

It's progress. It's a footstep away from where Kosova was. No one has the authority or right to judge that.

and no we dont want yet another way, aint anyone learnt anything over the past 90 years. The last wear over there lastest 2 years, i doubt if anyone wants another one.

One questions and baring in mind i dont know much of the history, but why did you want independance???

its the ethnic Albanians that wanted independence, which they happen to be the majority but if you go back afew hundred years eariler it was the Serbs that were the majority

EDIT: Yes Russia killed many but they also saved one of my friends dad's many years ago.

Yeah, I don't mind but it just offended me as my family is part Russian... If i was 100% Russian then i would of taken it worse but im more British, but i just wanted to say one thing. I don't care if he does hate Russians and it might of been a slip of the tounge is doesn't matter i just had to show i was offended by it. But everything fine now...

Even though i would love to see arguing on these forums, never seen it in my life on here

Secondly, please be mindful that discussions of a political nature tend to invite non-constructive contributions and can quickly get out of hand. (Hence why they're often frowned upon by The Powers That Be). With that said, we hope we can get this thread back on track and move past the little "slip ups" from earlier. If you find that you cannot contribute to this discussion in a constructive manner, then it may be a good idea to refrain from contributing to it at all.
