Likewise, have only had the game for one day, and only had a quick bash at the map maker.... which I must add.... looks very good, and as long as you apply a little time and imagination... should prove to be very useful... especially on an xbox system link....

Yes, you can add doors.... load one of the maps from the ones prided, (sample maps), I can't remeber the name, but it's the one with the teleporters on it. If you highlight your 'mouse' arrow over the area just above the block with the teleporter in it, another slim block is highlighted.... with a couple of options... 'door' or 'window'. You can even pick a key colour to unlock it.... Make sure you place the key somewhere, and once you've got it.... you can unlock the door.....

I havent played with it in different modes, obviously it'll work in story mode, but I haven't tried deathmatch mode.....

One cool idea I did have, was to arm everyone with a basic weapon, and you'd have a choice to fight with just the basic piece, or find a key, access a door, jump through a teleporter and pick-up something heavier..... A different teleporter could take you to another area where you weren't able to get to normally, then you'd have the choice to re-join the fight, or find the next key to get the even better weapon.

With this idea, you could have three main levels of weapon. The basic pistol, then a shotgun, followed by a sniper or rocket launcher for the final piece. The sniper / rocket would be placed at the top or the middle of an area, giving you a great vantage point, but open to fire all around you. This would even the odds a little.... more power, but more vulnerable. If a team mate followed you up there, he'd soon wipe you out and take your place.....

It might make an interesing game.....

No outside area's from what I can see, but you can make some very large indoor areas.......

Should do the trick....

To help explain adding door's a little more clearly then gamejunkie.

First you have to have a hallway, and a room. Then at the small point where the hallway connects to the room, if you drag the "curser" to the meeting point, you will see a small yellow line appear. If you click add, then a door will appear onto the intersection between the room and the hallway.

hope this helps,

Jorus

I was looking at this actually. When i float my cursor over it, it doesnt say "create door", it says "create window" Didnt really want to put a window there incase of getting stuck.

Can anyone tell me something. With the Tile called 'core' or something like that. How tall does it go? I know it reaches nearly all of the height sections, but can you have doors coming off of it.(doors from levels 3 and above?) It seems like a bit of a watse of space if it was just a very tall room.

Anyhelp would be good. cheers

Ok. First, go to Object mode (or is it Item?). You should have a place where two RED doorways are connected to make an empty passage. Then simply drag the cursor over the area where the two red doorways connected and look at what your buttons say in the corner. For Cube it says "Y" is place window, and "A" is place door. Simple as that.

up_in_$moke : The core extends only 4 levels out of the possible 7. Yes you can have doors connect to each level of the core, and it has 4 doors per level.

An example of the core is: I recently made a team capture the bag map, using alien tile set, and placing the core tile piece as the "middle ground." The map has 2 bases at the top, and 2 at the bottom. The 2 at the top are connected to each other by a hallway, and they by them selves to the core through another hallway. Same goes for the bottom. So in essence team "blue" (top team) can not get to team "red" base (bottom team) without going through the core. Same for team red. Another feature I added was in the main base of both blue and red, there is a ramp that goes up to a small second level, as soon as you go up the ramp there is a very small room, and a window down onto the first level, and its over looking the core room.

hope this helps, if you have anymore questions post here or pm me.
