Thanks Rene. I now know the composer, but I couldn't find the track on his site, would you know if it is available somewhere or not?

Someone mentioned on another board that the track sounds similar in style to the one from the Star Trek XI trailer:

FYI, I tweaked thread title and added Mr McCann's name. Gotta give him the credit he deserves!

Something to tide us over a bit until we get the actual track:

http://rapidshare.com/files/39565872...nodialogue.mp3

I removed the middle channel from the trailer's sound track, basically removing dialogue. Of course, this is a very crude and invasive method, so quality went down. Also, the stereo sound effects (rioting, gunfire etc.) are still there. But hey, gifted horse and all that.

Gonna chime in here. It's fantastic to see so many people that enjoyed the original score. Having said that, Mike is taking it to the next level and Steve (audio director) is combining it / directing it with some excellent sounds for an overall winner of an audioscape for this game. Mike's not only doing an incredible job but is also giving nods to the original score. I mean, as many here have seen, the latest trailer is a very impressive score.

I'll most likely be releasing more DX inspired pieces on my own site over the next few months. In the meantime, I'll be cheering Mike and Steve on as Warren and Harvey are doing so for the designers / producers.

As brilliant as the music was in the trailer, it's very different from a thematic perspective. It falls on the "super epic adventure" side of the page, like Mass Effect. The original Deus Ex made use of tracker music, which eliminated any such epic scores, but it fit the game like a glove - what else can a cyberpunk game ask for, other than tracker music? Whenever I've read a cyberpunk novel since, I could only imagine electronic/tracker music in the background. I tried listening to those "cyberpunk" electro bands out there, but they don't cut it, as far as audioscape is concerned. The humble and geeky tracker music does it.

Thanks for the trailer sound track! Maybe this'll persuade EIDOS to release the trailer music separately now.

Sorry for double-post, but we have an update just added to FAQs.
I edited thread title.

Quote:
SOUNDTRACK COMPOSER
The composer is the great Michael McCann!
Award-winning composer and sound designer Michael McCann aka Behavior (ReGenesis, Splinter Cell: Double Agent), best known for his ambient cinematic scores and organic soundscapes, is creating the original musical score for DEUS EX: HUMAN REVOLUTION. The music captures the unique visual style of DX:HR and thematically supports the blend of action, role-playing and adventure genres featured in the game. To immerse players in the dark and beautifully visualized world of the game, the score fuses elements of cybernoir, futuristic renaissance and electrosymphonic ambience.

Welcome, Sir. Looking forward to hearing more of the soundtrack.

They should hire Alex Brandon, Michiel van Den Bos and Steve Foxon to do the job. And give them three million dollars upfront.

Brandon may have been asked, but other committments prevented him from taking up the offer.

^ I never know how to read a mod post around here...

He may have been asked... as in just hypothesizing? Or he was asked, as in we know something you don't know...?

You know the rest of the song...

LOL, I don't know for sure - it was just a possibility because in earlier times Mr Brandon did post on this forum (probably in this very thread) and I seem to remember him saying about having other committments.
Perhaps someone else can remember or find his post.

Not happening unless the fans give Square Enix ten million dollars upfront.
