This again?
Bring it out on general release and, no doubt, I'll watch it. But it won't be. Like most independent productions, it's more portfolio-fodder than anything else. Which is probably a shame. |

Could've at least picked a better Lara.
Trailer would've been pretty good if most of the dialogue was removed.

It looks like a fake!
Just my opinion... I doesnt look like it will be a movie, have we heard any news about it before now? Has it been on t.v? Magerzines or anything? Not from what no person proberly had money and got a few people together to make it up! Becasue i have just been on countingdown.com and they still have nothing of a new tombraider movie at all. |

That's because it's a fan film. You won't see it anywhere else, where there are no fans.

was just looking around for some more info on this tomb raider fan film and after reading this post felt i had to sign up to reply.... It may turn out to be portfolio fodder as you describe it but at least someone is prepared to get off their backsides and do something they feel strongly about, i get the feeling spong is the kind of guy who never lets his controller out of his hand... dude, try and leave your room for a bit and do something worthwhile. If it makes you feel important to complain, do so, but don't knock it till you have tried it!!! Enough ranting, I'm looking forward to seeing it, found an italian fan site that says it will be released on the website towards the middle of november. |

OOKAAY.
Interesting plot and yet it parallels the TR1 Movie by Paramount and Legend. Where did he get his info on a Errol Croft? Perhaps he just made him up or better still did Eidos feed him that little tidbit? The Villain Looks to be keeping with Tomb Raider fashion. I liked the shot of him in the Gallery. Lara on the other hand needs to workout a little more I saw some love handles, Flab around her waist. Oh and one bang is enough she doesn't need two not only that trim it down a bit. She would make a great young Lara though. Over all I give it two

Lara Croft is based on Indiana Jones and Lara Cruz. So she was Hispanic/U.S. in origin and later was adapted and made British. I got that much from wikipedia.

Okay, I think this is getting slightly off hand here. Whether people like it or not, it's not up to someone else's judgement and we should all be grown up to know how to cope with critiscism -- both good and bad feedback.
Spong has voiced his opinion and stands by it. Hangnailer has voiced his opinion and likewise stands by it. I think it's all pretty much settled here. Let's just quit bashing each other. |

Fair comment Treeble
But my initial post seems to have been misconstrued (first by the mysterious PBW! and then seconded by Hangnailer11). Not at any moment have I actually commented on the movie itself. The use of the term 'portfolio-fodder' was more a comment on the workings of the industry. As I said, if the movie was on general release, chances are I would've gone and seen it. I even said it was most likely a shame that I wouldn't see it. But all that's pretty-much irrelevant. What I really didn't like was the way opinions expressed in this thread were being met with nothing but 'smart' and bitter-sounding retorts. That was my real bone of contention. And that's all I'm saying. I apologise if I broke any rules or etiquette. |

I am glad to see the petty bickering and general meanness people sometimes refer to as "just my opinion" hasn't been allowed to flourish on our fair forum while I have been baking cookies.
I am glad when the fan community makes positive creative strides to add to the many facets of Tomb Raider, and applaud hard respectful work for the love of Lara Croft. Everyone who wants to celebrate our pleasant company of raiders in kind and generous spirit, come, have a cookie. ![]() *Leaves a heaping silver platter of hot-from-the-oven cookies for the forum's gentlemen and gentlewomen.*
