Thumbs up The Simpsons (video game)

Hey everyone. I just downloaded the demo through PSN for the upcoming new Simpsons video game (Not based on the movie, I don't think...) and I was wondering who will get the game. Anyone else remember playing (if you have) the very first arcade version years ago and how fun that was ? I do !

I know they've had several or a few games prior to this for consoles, but out of all, I think the new one tops them. I'll definitely get this because I still love The Simpsons and also out of nostalgia I'll get it. I've just started playing the demo and so far in single player mode, you can switch the Simpsons characters (Lisa, Marge, Homer, Bart and even Maggie, yes, Maggie.) on the fly-- like Simpsons tag tournament or something. Judging by the demo, you start out with two. Then again, maybe you could select which characters you want to start out with in the full game. We'll see.

If none of you have seen trailers for the game, click on the following.
From GameStop site ~ The Simpsons

It's coming out for all consoles ~ PS3, PS2, PSP, XBox 360, Nintendo Wii, and Nintendo DS.

According to them.....
PSP version will be released in the US on November 6th, 2007.
All other versions will be released in the US on October 30th, 2007.
(Then again, maybe the dates could change. But I'm so hoping they won't.)

So does this interest anyone ? For me it's a buy as you know.

It almost has like a GTA (third person sandbox) / Hulk Ultimate Destruction (background interactivities/destruction) feel to it.

The trailers of the game look really awesome. I like the parodies they're doing. Unfortunately I won't be getting it since it won't be out for pc

Yeah, I'm surprised there's no PC version of it yet. I wonder why....
Maybe they'll have one once console versions are out which is unfair but a

Okay, I just finished with the demo. It would've taken me a lot sooner, had I discovered what to do from the beginning. I won't spoil it for anyone what the demo had but it was fun ! The in-game animation is just like the TV show except it has a bit more of a cell-drawn effect.

I love the demo. It really is a blast. I just wish I could play it. My son has been hogging the PS3 for the past couple of days playing the demo so I have only spent about 5 minutes with it.

The demo level yes. Imagine something like GTA or Crackdown (more like Crackdown with hidden items) only instead of trying to take down a gang you are trying to take down a giant robot and doughnut while also killing min-Krusty's.

There are some great one liners. Eps. when homer inhales helium.

Very Simpson-y in 3D. Very colourful and crisp graphics. The audio is "excellent" and controls are very responsive.
