Default Ninja Gaiden 2

Hello thought I'd make a thread for the newly announced Ninja Gaiden 2 game which is an Xbox 360 exclusive (Microsoft and Tecmo are publishing it).

I'll post some updates.

NOTE: If you're squeamish, you might not want to click on the links. It's pretty gory.

The game is now "officially" confirmed.

Trailer and article here.

Screenies from IGN.

Looks good doesn't it? I love how they use blood for the "II" in the trailer.

Fairly recently, I've read somewhere that it's rumored, and almost confirms my prediction, to be released on PS3 as well. Maybe six months to a year later like other games when they went multi-console.

Remember that Sigma was made by the creator's direct subordinate team or some separate team within Team Ninja. So, I could feel NG2 to be released on PS3. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. Only time will tell...

The gameplay demo looks awesome !

I thought there was a demo version downloadable from the PS Store for this game. How could it be an exclusive if this is true? Or am I looking at a different Ninja Gaiden game?

I meant the demo for NG2 that was shown during one of those game conventions months ago. Then game review sites uploaded them.

By the way, I don't know if you already were aware of this, but I recently read that Itagaki left Tecmo because of some uncompensated monetary owed to him as he said.

Itagaki leaves Team NINJA, sues Tecmo.

So, to me, yes, I feel a little bit reassured, theoretically and remotely, NG2 could make its way to PS3.
Then, again, I could be wrong.

Microsoft actually published Ninja Gaiden 2, and being as they fully paid for it, they decide what consoles it goes to. Since supplying games to your competition's console is an odd business practice, it will probably stay as a 360 game.

Well, now it seems exclusivity will be a thing of the past and sharing will be the future. That's my perception.

Take, for example,

1. GTA 3, San Andreas, and 4.
2. Devil May Cry 4
3. Final Fantasy XIII(?) [ The last game revealed and shocked people at this year's E3 '08 Microsoft Conference. ]

Granted, these were all Sony titles that jumped to Microsoft's boat as an inclusion to sell more, but you see my point, right ? Whose to say MS won't allow NG: Sigma 2, for example, to be released in maybe one year or more from now if the same team that developed NG: Sigma does it again ?

The game is awesome.

I have played the original Ninja Gaiden on the XBOX console, but Sigma did bring plenty of new features, such as bringing in Rachel as a playable character.

It does lag a bit, once in awhile, throughout gameplay, but I'm assuming that's because of the graphics. There are new cutscenes too, which is always nice.

I highly recommend the game to any PS3 owners. ^^

Ninja Gaiden 2 looks awesome. Ryu's my favorite character. Although he was introduced to me from DOA, I like his old counterpart and his current one is H-O-T!
I squeal like a fan girl just with Ryu swinging a katana!

Singstar90210 ~ I had DOA: Hardcore on PS2 and I never knew it was Hyabusa from NG series. Mainly because I never knew the guy's name or that he had a name.

~~~~~~~
Did anyone hear that Koei ( developers of Dynasty Warriors series ) and Tecmo have merged ?
If not, read here.
I'm not looking forward to Dynasty Gaiden or Ninja Warriors.
Why couldn't Tecmo join forces with......oh, I don't know...... Eidos ??
Never mind. According to the article, they WANTED Koei.
~~~~~~~

FireShadow ~ I was wondering why there were short spurts of load times when running around too. It wasn't too bad though. If it stalled longer than 4 seconds each, that would be a bit irritating. Other than that, it's a fun game.

I've never played the orginal XBox NG game. So jumping into this the first time, it was a bit difficult to handle. I admit my timings were off to an extent.

I have it. Its actually really hard. Quite a few people think its just anotehr button masher. But there are so many combo's lol. I love the lunar staff weapon, its awesome. havent finished it yet though, I'm stuck in the water one. Trying to shoot these things in the water, with this underwater gun thing, it smells lol.

And it is really gory. My dad always have to leave the room when I play on it XD

Because those weren't "Sony" published titles. GTA is Take2, Devil May Cry is Capcom, and Final Fantasy is Square-Enix. Ninja Gaiden 2 is a Microsoft-published game, though Ninja Gaiden 1 was a Tecmo-published game.

Just as I suspected the obvious about a NG:S2 on PS3. I found articles it will be released before the end of this year. All posted today.

ETA on 3/19/09

Plus.... Tecmo circumvents exclusive deal with Microsoft for XBox 360

Further proof that exclusivity could be a thing of the past to a degree.

I'm really surprised with Ninja Gaiden 2 releasing on the PS3. I'm not exactly sure how the deal went down, but Microsoft WAS listed as the publisher (even though Team Ninja is owned by Tecmo), so this makes no sense to me.
