Default Difference of framerate between Vista / XP

Hello,

I read some people said the game was a bit slower under Vista, which has been confirmed by this terrible benchmark

I'm sure some of you have upgraded to Vista and played Just Cause under both XP and Vista with the same machine.

I'd like to know if you noticed a dramatical change in terms of performances or if the framerate is still acceptable to enjoy the game.

Actually, I had the game but sold it. I'd like to rebuy it but now I'm using Vista and my computer is rather old (6800 128Mb, 3,0 GHz CPU, 2Gb RAM).

Thanks a lot!!!!!!

As long as you optimize Vista, most everything runs without issue. I didn't notice any major differences between XP and Vista in most games, and definately in Just Cause (I used FRAPS to benchmark the game with both before I wrote this). So as long as you're willing to sacrifice a few minor graphical settings, I'd say you'll be able to play on Vista just fine.

Just disable all vista background programs, such as windows defender blah blah. Disable Aero, transparency, 3D flip and sidebar for a better performance as they are all memory consuming.
