Default Erg...frozen Lara in Time Trials.. & HardDino tactics?

Grrr....Yes the time may be "figured in", but it's so darn frustrating to watch your timer ticking down while you are frozen waiting for an animation to finish. I thought the timer stopped during Legend animations, but maybe it was only the cut-scenes and there were no real long periods of animations where Lara was frozen, unable to move, with the time ticking down 10...9..8..7..6..5.4.3210 (only 6 feet from end of level) -- my first TT, peru caves...the doors were opening as it was counting down. I made it through the doors and it said, sorry, you lose, you pathetic meatsack! Only 6 feet...oh well...got it on next try...

Other bit...was trying to go through some sections on "Hard" to prep myself for the TT's, but when I got to Dino...yuck! Came in with a grand total of 1BigHP and 3 small HP's. I've gotten as far as Dino knocking down two of the spikey large bread rollers (people rollers?)...but it's way sorta tight with so little in HP backups. For some reason, my adreniline rush dodge timing is off quite a bit...Dino even seems to hit me when I pull it off...Ya know...if this was Lara of the Rings: Return of the Raider, I'd be able to jump on that Dino's tail, and shooting arrows, er, machine guns, run up its back and blow it in its head from above...
ala "Larolas" elf style...

Ooo...is the HP's I'm left with whatever I had left after my fight with Natla? I dumped a bunch of HP's offing her...took a while to get the hang of it.

A*a, Larolas wanna be?

The really touchy part of the time trials is Tomb of Tihocan. You have to complete the cistern, fight the centaurs AND go through an interactive cutscene. All while the clock is ticking.

I don't lose any health fighting T Rex. Feel free to look up the posts I've made on how to approach him. The only part that hart not to get hit is AFTER he hits the rollers. Because the animation plays, but you're stuck there and if you don't play it right, he's basically standing on top of you.

Hi all - I seem to remember that in previous versions of TR, even during cut scenes you could still move Lara around and even watch while you did it - e.g. you would see a wide sweeping camera pan around a room - but you could see Lara in the cutscene (wherever you had reached that triggered it) and still get her to move so you could save time getting to the next bit instead of standing still! I'm not sure now if this was the case in ALL the previous versions but I definitely remember that this was possible.......

Yeah, I remember that. I was always reverse-rolling and running by the time the camera "came back" to Lara after the cut scene that showed what door was opening.

I don't know why they abandoned that idea. It's the same in GOW. Timed run, gotta ride an elevator, but you can't move him while the elevator is moving, so you can't "shave time" by positioning him near the door.

The only thing I can say, to make the Lost Valley a quick run is first beat the Atlantis levels, get the golden shot gun and kill the T-rex with one shot, and there you go.
