Just back after pouring himself another drink, face is going slightly redder than usual, and he is becoming more and more merrier at the minute And it's only 5pm in the afternoon. Welcome to Glasgow

I think you would have gotten more interest if you had made your puzzle in your own thread so it would not have gone off your post's topic, like it is inevitable in this thread.

I appreciate your thoughts, Cat. I did realize the potential problem of posting it in the Open Chat thread, but I had my reasons.

One reason is I wasn't sure if I wanted to keep a thread created for a treasure hunt, and if something were to go awry, I could delete my post, but not a thread.

Another reason is that I didn't have much time to think up steps in the treasure hunt, and I was under-confident about whether I wanted to reveal it, as there is not much to it.

Finally, I at first did not want to admit that I in fact had a small treasure hunt already prepared, and, as you saw, just wanted to "put the bee in your (collective) bonnet", to leave only the slightest hint that there was a treasure hunt. Saying "I'm thinking of a treasure hunt" in a new thread would have looked suspiciously like spam, and I wanted to try and avoid getting off to a bad start (you know how it is).

That being said, perhaps I will make a thread, as there could a little fun derived from my time and effort. Thanks for thinking of me, Cat.

Unhappy My Poor Baby!

The following contains scenes of violence (for car enthusiasts). Look at your own risk.

OK, so I'm driving in the left lane of a two lane one-way street one evening, not much traffic, and I'm approaching this old beater ahead of me in the right lane driving slowly. I didn't have a good feeling about that car, and I didn't want to be near that car any longer than I had to, so I continued at my current speed (I wasn't speeding) to pass it.

Guess what, the driver decided she needed to get into the parking lot on our left, and turned right in front of me! I had no warning, and I side-swiped the car, that is, our cars scraped along the sides of each other.

The damage is worse than it appears in the picture. The headlight is smashed, rear-view mirror dangling, door scraped, rims scraped, rear bumper partly off, what a mess.

We called in our claims to MPI (Manitoba Public Insurance), and I was deemed not responsible, but I'll pay the price in loss of use of my vehicle and recycled and used body parts. I have heard several times that auto-body work is really good these days, so I'm hopeful she'll look like she used to. That was a month ago, I should be able to pick up my car next week.

Funny how that shade of blue still looks great (to me, but I'm biased).

Thanks Werner. I'll be happy when I pick up my car so I can start zipping around again.

BTW, you're not going to make me say it again, are you? Well, maybe I'll just leave it at "I'm thirsty"...

Ruum that's terrible! *Hugs*

But thank goodness you are unhurt. I owe you a PM incidentally, I haven't forgotten I know how you cherish 'Zippy', poor Zippy. I hope she can be fixed up and restored to her former striking glory

Sympathy is always nice.

And don't worry, Lo, it's nothing urgent, but thanks for mentioning your future PM reply.

I had missed this. Oh Ruum your poor Zippy. You love him so much. As long as you are unhurt.
Do hope he is better soon.
