Competition Time

Everybody enjoys an Easter Egg hunt, soooo ...
my proposal for a neat Tomb Raider Anniversary Forum Competition is “Name That Easter Egg”.
This competition is the other side of an Easter Egg hunt namely an Easter Egg hide.

Each entry in this competition should be a suggestion for an Easter Egg that could be included in Tomb Raider Anniversary.
Easter Eggs can be almost anything, limited mostly by the suggesters' own imagination.
The suggestions themselves should be hidden from view, of course, to preserve their surprise value.

Judging would be done by Eidos personnel.
The reward for a winning suggestion would be to have that Easter Egg make it into the game!
On the other hand, if this delays the release of the game then forget about it- hee hee.
It should be possible to have more than one winner and I would also allow multiple entries from a single user.
With this competition, everybody wins really ...

I have two entries (if we can have two. If not, use the first.)

1. Create an entirely new gameplay element never before included in a TR game. New move/item/weapon/reward system/whatever. The most original, TR-esque entry wins.

2. Draw a Tomb Raider Cartoon. Funniest one wins.

Well fact i've had over 50 entries means a lot arent confused at all..

Its a bit of fun i am doing off my own back with something i happen to have in my possession which a Lara fan will love.

Ok, so here's my entry:

Design/assign to Lara a new gadget that would help her unravel secrets of ancient tombs. Something that she'd carry either in her backpack or in her utility belt, yet something she could find herself using quite often.

So, after posting I went back and read some of the other entries and realized the above had already been posted. So here's another go at it:

Conceive new areas for Lara's manor, or redecorate some of the existing rooms. You may dress up the butler and live team as well.

What an innovative idea!

My 'entry' is as follows:

Eidos members write a reasonably short and fictional exchange between Lara and a key character of any of the games. This could be a conversation betwixt Lara and her butler, Winston; Lara and Natla, Lara and Larson, Sophia, Bartolli...et al. It would inspire members to get in touch with their creative sides!

I say reasonably short only to spare the judge(s) from having to trawl through long missives. Perhaps a maximum of twelve lines would be sufficient?

Perhaps after the competition for best suggestion, we could host a fun competition centred around the winning entry? I love competitions and often host my own for real prizes and everything!

I have several ideas. I'll post them all, but take the first one, if you must take only one. They are all short stories with the following topics:

1. What does Lara dream about? Either every night or one particular dream.

2. What does Lara aspyr (hehe) to become or accomplish in her lifetime?

3. What does Lara want to be remembered for?

Yes, deep topics. Pure creativity, would have to be subjectively judged.

And, just to let you know, I've already written the winning entry for my contest.

One of those competitions where you fill a jar full of pieces of paper, each of which has a number on it. Each entrant has to select a number which they feel represents the number of people who play TR on Mac. If the number they selected happens to be drawn out of the jar, hey, they win!

Okay, so, I would consider myself a pretty creative person, but I blanked on this one....
So, here's to the retro-lara-box... thing!

Make up a pet for Lara and draw/edit a picture of her and that pet. It can be any animal. (invisible hippos don't count!)
