Default Trc Help!!!

WTF!?!?! How do i set the gamma or the brightness of the game? And how the heck do i get out of the game? There is no "quit" option? How come the game is so insanely dark? I can't see anything in the first level!!! AAAH!!! What's happening?

Is there another menu i can get to besides the inventory?

Please help me! Thanks!!!

To exit from gameplay, press 'p', and you'll be returned to the title screen.

At the title screen, if you go to options, I think you should be able to mess around with gamma settings and such.

Or try to adjust the brightness of your monitor... That might help.

You can't make any gamma/brightness adjustments from the game options. It's same here, I have to increase the brightness of the monitor when I play.

Instead of cranking up the brightness (which makes the colors look washed-out and the blacks turn gray), increase the gamma of your video card instead.

If you have a GeForce card, go to Display Properties, then Settings, then Advanced, then the nView tab, and click on Device Settings to access Color Correction. For my system, increasing the gamma to 1.3 brightened up The Last Revelation just right so that it looked more natural (don't go much higher or colors will look too washed-out). Then you can save the settings in a new color profile and switch to that profile easily before launching the game by using the nVIDIA applet in the system tray.

Tomb Raider games were originally developed for the 3dFX Voodoo cards, which use a default gamma correction of 1.3. However, video cards produced by most competing companies (nVidia, etc.) use a default gamma correction factor of 1.0. This is why games written for the Voodoo series look too dark when played on other brands of video cards. Adjusting the gamma to 1.3 solves the problem and the game looks the way it was intended.
