TR1 Game crashes when saving

Howdy!

I just got TR1, installed the XP patch, it all worked beautifully until the game crashed when saving. It happens every now and then and sometimes, just loading a game makes it crash. However, that happens less often. Oh and if while saving, the game crashes, this particular slot I used won't work anymore. And instead of being called "St Francis.153" it will be "savegame.021" and I won't be able to load it or even save a game on it. I'll have to use another savegame and start all over. You see it's all really irratating :/ By the way, the graphics aren't as sharp as it used to be in the beginning: now I see little black holes on the ground and white lines as well. But I don't mind this, I just want to be able to save a game without having to think twice about it
