Default System Issues

I know you probably have another answer in one of the other posts but even if it's the same problem my system is different and probably won't have the same answers to it.

I am experiencing the snowboard error where it shuts down and asks me to send an error report.

So far, in the two (2) other reviews about this there has been mention of no fix and the only recomended solution being to turn sound down to basic in the dxdiag options as well as set it to quarter screen mode normal resolution.

I am moderately computer literate, so first I'll list off my pc's specs:

Custom Built model
200 gig hard drive
windows XP 64 bit edition (And go figure they'll be done with vista soon, and damned near nothing supports this version)

Using a NVIDIA GeForce 6800 XT 256 meg GPU

CPU is an AMD Athlon 64 bit X2 Processor (duel core) 3800+

So my machine is top notch screaming speeds, but sadly can't support all softwares...

So far I've encountered the following issues:

I just wanted to start the game and new I would encounter errors later. So I just started and used the 1.2 patch I think it was? It added the graphics support so the text wasn't so screwed up, and it ran fine.

I got to the point with the chocobo race and it froze as expected (after all that work to get to and kill dyne), and of course I figured at that point why not install the universal FF7 patch which is supposed to fix all problems.

I installed it and then restarted FF7, and about 5 minutes later spent 10 minutes trying to re-install FF7. Whatever happened to the graphics I don't even want to know, but everything was incredibly awkward and florescent which totally didn't fit the game. So basically I couldn't see much of anything and had to uninstall it.

I re-installed the entire game and used JUST the chocobo patch which so far has worked perfectly fine. Now I am at this point where I am trying to get down this damned hill, I don't even care much for the snowboard game, and the damned thing is freezing on me.

I followed the listed instructions and tried combinations of the screen resolution, sound down to the basic, and everything else I could think of. It still gives me the same damned issue, and microsoft says their error reporting is complete but I receive no information about it at all (wonderful).

Is there something wrong with the patch I downloaded: FFVIIXP.zip Size: 9,164 KB. Is it that I'm using XP 64 bit edition?

If anyone has any possible resolution or suggestions please post, my only other option is trying it on the other 3 machines I own, and installing the game on 1 was a tough enough proceedure with all the compatibility and crap you gotta go through to do it.

Thanks in advance, I patiently await a reply.

*Edit*

I sadly can't copy and paste the giant list of errors but It did allow me to get the following:

AppName: ff7.exe AppVer: 0.0.0.0 ModName: ff7.exe
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 0026c58c

And that is the error signature, if this is in any way useful or if I had the full listing and that'd help please let me know I'll put in the effort to find a way to get it, but otherwise I don't care to do that.
