Default A few newbie questions

Hi all. This humble newbie would be very gratefull to have a few questions answered.

First, How does one enable accurate aiming? I've seen it mentioned in some online guides but I can't find it in the manual (I got the game from Direct2Drive.com and the manual seemed awful short, I'm wondering if buying it in the store would have given me a better one?)

Second, What's the trick to finally completing Croft Manor? I've found all 4 peices of equipment, gotten all the rewards, but the exploration objectove still isn't showing complete. This is driving me nuts!

And finally, what exactly is Next Generation Content and what am I missing out on if I disable it? I've noticed the game runs slightly choppy (especially in the pool room in croft manor) with it enabled, and my graphics card has an annoying tendency to overheat. with it disabled it runs perfectly smooth. My machine is a 3.2 ghz P4 with 2 gigs of ram and a Geforce 6800 GT. I'd love to figure out what my optimal settings would be so I could use the next gen stuff and still have the game run smoothy.

Thanks!

I think it may also be called "Zoom" in the key config options menu so have a look for that. My one is "z" but I think that might be a custom redefined key.

It's a bug.

Have a read of this little article - has a lot of screenies of the differences.

Not your fault specifically. The Next Gen setting is very demanding and requires a pretty damn good graphics card (like a Geforce 7900GT or Radeon X1800XT) to run nicely.

It shouldn't do that regardless of how demanding any game is! I don't know how much hardware experience you have but if you understand, you should check your heatsink/GPU core contacts.

Get a better graphics card. ROFL
Ok, you might be able to get away with good next gen if you practically disable everything except the next gen options. Also make sure you have latest game patch and nVidia drivers.

I'm on a Radeon X800XL and I play without next gen (I tried the reg hack but I didn't like how it looked anyway) and it was fine and still looked bloody great.

I am using an X800 Pro and also did the same reg tweak to enable Next Generation. If you disable AA it runs smooth enough to play, but it is slow so I didn't really play the game that way. It was interesting to see what it looked like and I took a bunch of screenshots in NG etc.

You don't have enough Video card for it to run smooth and fast with NG turned on. The 6800 GT is about the same as the X800 Pro /XL speed wise.

For AGP cards the GF 7800 GS might be fast enough, for PCI Express the GF 7800/7900 or ATI X1800/X1900 series cards are fast enough.
