Idea: Blood Omen 1 for Nintendo DS

Okay, I know you're rolling your eyes at this one, but just hear me out.

So Nintendo owners got the short end of the stick when the only LoK game we got was 'Blood Omen 2' for Gamecube.

But the thought occured to me: why not 'remake' Blood Omen for the Nintendo DS?

It would work on several accounts, IMO. The graphics could easily be handled by the DS hardware, and the load times could be significantly reduced. Inventory managament would be done on the bottom Touch Screen, which would make equipping weapons and using spells far easier and less frustrating. The only downside is that the screen is fairly small, so you wouldn't be able to 'see' much. Though if they moved the health bar to the bottom screen, then it wouldn't be an issue, I would think.

Another idea would be to possibly redub the voicework, mostly Mortanius /w Alastair Duncan (from 'Defiance'), just for consistency with the games post-Blood Omen. But then again, I felt the 'redub' of Metal Gear Solid for 'Twin Snakes' was abysmal (lacked the same 'feeling' as the original), so that might not be a good idea, but something to consider.

That, and it'd be a good way for newer fans of the LoK series to experience BO, considering it's hard to find and the Multipack with Soul Reaver (and some other unrelated game) is hard to find as well. (At least, in my neck of the North American woods, anyways)

There's more to this idea, but I'm curious to know what people think of it. I mean yeah, CD has stated that they don't plan on revisiting older games for remakes, but it is an idea worth entertaining as a good ol' fashioned 'What If'. ^^

I would LOVE to see Blood Omen on the DS.

Leave the voice work; the Legacy Of Kain series is the only series I know of to have damn near perfect voice acting for every game. By all means update the graphics and FMVs (music too perhaps?) but leave everything else that made the game what it was.

I made this suggestion last year I think or was it the year before. I also suggested it to come out for the psp and found out some ppl who have the psp can remod the game to play on it as well as soul reaver. Of course your psp would have to be hacked into to play these games. But I think they can come up with a ds version of blood omen. It's doable and it would introduce a new generation to the games and experience that be Legacy Of Kain.

I also think that this would be a great idea, though I don't have a DS (I think I'll get one eventually though. Can they play old Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance games?). Hell, I wish that Nintendo would get a clue and rerelease Super Metroid on it too. I'm playing that game on a Super Nintendo over at a friend's house now (my copy of the game though) and playing that game just makes me have to scream while playing it "WHY THE HELL DIDN'T NINTENDO EVER PORT THIS GAME?!!!" Though I know that it's on the Wii Virtual Console, and that only took them, what? 14 or 15 years to do?!!! Meanwhile other games out there get rereleased so much it boggles the mind. It's like Nintendo has a vendetta against that game or something.
