I'm in the Siberia portion of the demo. Here's some quick thoughts so far:

The levels were very slow to load for me too.
The guards may be respawning, but you are near the guard house....so there will be a few of them around. You're best bet is to quickly move on as soon as you've cleared an area to the next available hidey-hole. I was a little disappointed that in some areas the guards still came at you in single file just waiting to be mowed down...but in other areas they were nicely all over the place. Can't wait for the finished product now! |

It wasn't exactly present all the time in the first game.
Personally, I think NOLF2 has lost the original's edge. The Teaser demo felt like more of the same. I guess it's because I had just finished playing NOLF the week before. Even so, it's just got too much of a sequel-ish feel to it. "Oh look! Cate's wearing a midriff-baring outfit! That means this new sequel is way cooler!"

As its a follow up to a game, which means retaining some of the elements that made the first one popular, of course it will have a sequel-like feel to it.
I know what you mean on the whole, but even the demo levels had a bit more polish about them....the AI was keener, the audio and video richer, the new interfaces more adaptable, and the levels glimpsed in other footage look like they have capitalised on the atmosphere created in the first one. As to the accent, it was constant mild Scottish burr throughout the first one, albeit with a different performer. As its an FPS, what the character wears is of little importance to me. ![]() I guess we'll know in a couple of weeks. Last edited by DaveJ; 09-29-2002 at 12:42 AM. |
