<Attacks X-Com with his fleet in a random act of insane anger.>

You know, I know the guys who make that game. And you know what else? Eido's "Advertising" efforts are the reason it is not getting a sequel.

Its because it relies so little on action, and has more emphasis on puzzle-solving and exploration....

FFVII never appeard on the SNES. It was a PlayStation game.

Squaresoft (makers of the FF Series) decided they wanted to do a port to PC so they signed an agreement with Eidos to publish the resulting PC port.. I don't know who actually coded the port Eidos or Square.

So.. we have a poll for best Eidos series.. I vote Tomb Raider easily.. well done to Core Design too!

Best game Eidos has put out - FFVII; even though the PlayStation original is quite a bit nicer than the PC port.. it's still a top game.

We're voting on best SERIES, right?

Startopia and Deus Ex shouldn't even be in the list(do any of you have a retail copy of Deus Ex 2? It should be great, they do have a great team, I think the same for Thief 3, but neither are finished so neither exist).

The Thief series is the best in my opinion, with Legacy of Kain coming in next for series. In single games it's Thief 1 then Deus Ex.

I tried a Tombraider demo a few times, but anything that starts off with a jumping puzzle gets immediately uninstalled. I haven't played Commandos, Fear Effect, and Timesplitters. Startopia was so choppy it was unplayable, FF7 is an amazing game, Hitman was great.

BTW, would some helpful mod edit the poll to spell Thief correctly.(edit: thank you)

I'm sorry forum moderators.....but what the is wrong with you gamers? Are you guys clearly that delusional..If so I have a simple remedy ::waves giant club:: any real gamer would know that the best game from eidos is commandos...no question about it. Name me one game that gives you want commandos gives you..... noone... because no game offers what commandos offers.....none. Maybe a few, but eidos does'nt make those...(much respect goes to microsoft) And how dare you compare a masterpiece like commandos to army men??!!!?? Truly this person needs to see a shrink! Tomb raider is a good game, but clearly not a masterpiece. ty

I don't know if it was my system or the video card change(sans format) or what, but it was choppy as ell(also very slow to load), I could give it another try. I just looked at the min requirements and saw that I'm just above, so that could be the problem.

Action? More like sneaking and waiting for me, avoiding conflict, non-lethal options when there's no other alternative(this is why Thief and Deus Ex are at the top of my list). Eidos doesn't publish much that isn't action from what I can see.

tek9_56st, put the club down, there's no need for it, and you'll topple over if you try to swing it.

If there wasn't something to the Tomb Raiders then there wouldn't be so many of them.

There may be alot of them, but that still proves nothing...they can make a million and commandos would still be the best eidos series.

    Unhappy Uh oh

    That sounded bad.

MunkeeChum - you have put the Startopia forums in danger! We must all flee! Um, oh yeah, and vote for Startopia. Cos it rules.

But, to be honest, I've only ever played a couple of the others as demos - and they were AGES ago. Nothing more beyond that. So I'm bias anyway.

-is torn between Thief and LoK series-

{Garrett} : C'mon Rox, you know you can't go a day without taffing! You love the jingle jangle of coin purses - give in! You can't go wrong!
{Raziel} : Roxy, think about it - a criminal, or the savior of Nosgoth...
    {Garrett} : He's a walking corpse, for Builder's sake!
{Raziel} : That's quite alot of sass for someone who had one of their eyes torn out of their head!
{Garrett} : Please, you don't even have your vital organs anymore!
{Raziel} : I'll tear YOUR vital organs out, and swallow your soul!
    {Garrett} : Bring it on, Fang-Boy!
{Raziel} : My pleasure, you decrepit little-
{Roxy} : GUYS! Don't do this to me, I'm having a hard enough time deciding as it is.
    {Garrett} : HE started it...
    {Raziel} : Liar!
{Roxy} : Tell you what. I choose both of you. I can't live without either of you, because I'd be heartbroken, and bored out of my skull with The Sims.
    {Garrett} : She's right.
{Raziel} : True; the 'little computer people' game gets skull-knumbing after a few hours.
{Garrett} : C'mon. Let's get out of here and get a mug of mead at the Crippled Burrick.
{Raziel} : I'm in the mood for some nourishment too - know any Sarafan warriors I can drain?
{Garrett} : ... not personally, no, but I do know this Bafford guy. He's fat enough. Think he'll satiate your thirst?
    {Raziel} : Good enough.

    Hmmm.

Alpha - With that comment you just doubled sales of the game.

Well done. Keep up the good work.

The only thing to the Tomb Raider series are oversized, erm.. massive, well let's just say she has a large 'chest'. (Trying not to activate censors) I played a demo for Tomb Raider (insert insane number the Tomb Raider series is up to now). As soon as I was pushing blocks and jumping, I used the demo folder to store my Word documents.

The closest thing we get to large, err 'chests' are Dahenese sirens aka the prostitutes AlphaOmega mentioned. I mean, there is only one group of aliens that even HAVE a female counterpart. Startopia would definatly be on Startopia 3 by now if it got the same amount of advertising as a certain life simulation by the makers of Sim City, Sim City 2000, Sim City 3000, and... well you get the point.

I highly doubt there would be that many female fans due to a large breasted main character. Maybe for the idea of the character, but not for the breasts. With all the porn on the net wouldn't the Tomb Raider series have disappeared by 1997? There must be something more.

By your reasoning Duke Nukem had all those fans because all the males fantasized about sleeping with Duke.

Do you like Startopia because you want to rebuild the universe after the apocalypse? Most likely not, you probably like it because it's fun, and most likely the Tomb Raider fans like their game for the same reason, that's why I like Thief. If you don't find it fun, why are you playing it?

It's too bad marketing plays such a big role in gaming, marketing doesn't make a game better, but it does give higher sales and a larger market. All the boys upstairs see is the golden dollar signs(or lack of).

If it wasn't for Daiktana sucking money through a straw there would already be a Thief 3 and Deep Cover from Looking Glass(luckily one is in development, but the other is probably lost forever).
