need help with Day Four (The House of Widow Moira)

i have played this mission twice but failed to find the sercet switch. i even consulted 2 online walkthrough which said it is under the desk. however.. i still cannot see the switch no matter how to crouch in 1st and 3rd player mode. i circled the desk clicking the R-mouse button many times but nothing happens. is it possible that i have hit the switch without me knowing? will there be a message or anything when i hit the switch?

If you can circle the desk then it sounds like it's the wrong one - this should help (the switch is highlighted):



Once you've pressed the switch, you have to run across the hallway to the library-type room with the secret door (bookcase). If you're too slow, it'll close again.
