Default does higher difficulty have rewards?

does playing on a higher difficulty increase the amount of loot? or reward the player in some way?

apart from forcing you to pick up more loot i'm not sure whether there are any benefits to playing on expert.

thnx

Hm don't think there are benifits, but I guess it's more fun to play at hardest, kinda more realism as well.

Higher difficulty level does increase the number of certain things, like the number of guards and the awareness level of said guards. It doesn't change the amount of loot at all; it just requires you to get more of what's there. So, the only real reward is personal satisfaction.
