    The aftermath.
It was a big party in honor of the owner - Don Hill.
The club was packed to capacity. We ended up going on around 12:20.
The main bands who played (before us) were White Light Motorcade and Halestorm. Both those bands rocked. But even though we only played covers, we definately managed to rock the joint. The few rehearsals we managed to get in in such a short time span definately paid off.
Don Hill sent a bevvy of go go girls up onto the stage with us for the
    last three songs or so.
Photos by Brooklyn Gal to come.

YOU look great, Deek my dear! And right in your element I may say! But not as "a bit semi-adult" as I had hoped.

The next day I was pretty groggy for the better part of the day.
Still made it in to work at quarter to eight, though.
And my left arm was kinda dead owing to being out of shape.
    Feeling pretty good now though.

My brain is filling in the blanks, but it looks like it was a fantastic time for all involved.

In the words of my favorite talking sea turtle:

    You so totally rock, dude!

    Indeed we did.
The rock star we thought might have come, didn't.
But, John, the other guiatr player has worked with Ryan Adams before.
    (Pinkhearts days)
I heard a rumor that Richard Fortus (Psychedelic Furs, Ben Folds Five,
Guns and Roses) was a bit miffed that our singer asked John
to do the gig instead of him.
I was just glad to play.

Is that you with the black guitar? Well if so, then I can reconized you if we were to meet someday.

I don't play guitar. And if I did, it would be a dragon style guitar, all in purple.

It's me with the whiskers and the little skull on my shirt.
The first electric guitar I ever owned (a cheapie catalog thing)
I painted purple with some spare paint my Dad had used in the bathroom.

Deek! Cool, man! I thought I'd posted my support...but I see I failed.

(I think it's cuz I thought you were talking about Rock Star: INXS and I was gonna come back later...and then...well, life got in the way. Again.)

I actually got to do some Rock Star: INXS tee shirt graphics for a very big company that will be coming on board as a major sponsor of the show in September. It's such a big deal, that I had to sign a confidentiality voucher not to reveal the sponsor in the mean time.

No new reunions or gig plans on the horizon just yet.
But I did manage to get a tune from my old Brooklyn band, Formaldehyde Blues Train online!

Looks like it was a rockin' show Deek! Wish I could have been there, especially to hear the band's version of 'Girl's Got Rhythm'. The band, the art, the games and forums...how do you find time for it all?

So can you tell us who now? And how about a link to the graphics?

It was for Levi's. Then Levi's decided not to do any of the INXS stuff in kid's sizes, so nothing happened.

    Kismet, baby!

This design was originally penciled many years ago at about two inches high
as a tattoo on the arm of a girl holding a Dobro guitar
which was then inked, and colored
and used on the j-card for a Formaldehyde Blues Train demo tape.

A few weeks ago, I scanned the original pencils, intending to blow up the tattoo
and create a new piece of art of just that bit for
a Halloween piece at my deviantArt page.

Halfway through working on the new version, I got the call...
A Formaldehyde Blues Train reunion was in the works.
Well whaddaya know! The flyer for the reunion gig was now half done!

The best part - after our first rehearsal for the reunion gig, we decided
to keep the band together this time. So, FBT is back, baby!
We won't be playing a lot, but we will be playing a few times a year instead
of once every four or five years.

    For a taste of Formaldehyde:
    Now on MySpace... FBT
