Last revelation and Chronicles crash (with compatibility)

A recent problem has been preventing me from playing 'The last revelation'. It has only begun to happen recently and for no reason that I can see; no matter if I play it in compatibility mode, I just get a window that says:

'tr4.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.'

It's like my Compatibility mode doesn't work anymore. I don't understand this; and Chronicles has the same problem. But TR 2 and 3 work fine. Can you help me? This is really irritating me.

I checked, but I can't figure out what's wrong. The game was running fine on Compatibility mode for Windows 98, and Chronicles was the same. Now, suddenly, they've stopped. I can't get why. Man sometimes I just HATE computers...

Yeah, I know what you mean. I previously had Level Editor installed and since installing TR4 it doesn't work anymore. I've downloaded some patches but now I've encountered a new problem - I don't have a zip program on my computer to unzip the files (I backup my work onto CD) so now I have to wait for the new program and zip drive to arrive later this week .
