Default Severe Graphics Problems

When I try to enter a game at any resolution higher than 640x480, the screen is mostly black with random colored polygons flying around. I can still see some visual effects (eg, force auras and lightsabers), but the screen is otherwise indecipherable. Even at 640x480 this problem occurs occasionally, although sometimes Alt-tabbing out and back in fixes it.

During the loading screens, I'll often also get strange graphics artifacts popping up on the screen. Sometimes the "Lego Star Wars" logo on the menu screen turns into a mass of static.

As far as I can tell, it's neither a heat problem nor a power problem. I've tried running the game both with the case open and after long cool-down periods. I've recently upgraded my power supply to more-than-sufficient levels, so that shouldn't be an issue. Any other ideas? First part of my DxDiag follows. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I had the same exact problem as you...I noticed you have a geforce 6800 as well (mine is the PNY geforce 6800 128MB card). A couple people in another thread with geforce 6800's were experiencing the same problem as well. I found a driver which mostly resolves these issues...here is what I said in another post:

"I have the same exact problem with a PNY geforce 6800 128MB non-ultra card. I was originally using the 81.89 drivers when I was experiencing this. I updated to the new 91.33 beta drivers and it seemed to completely fix the problem. However, there is a catch...at least in my case. If I set the resolution to anything above 1024x768 then the graphics corruption comes back. And one time I had the graphics corruption briefly happen even at a resolution of 1024x768. I haven't had any graphics corruption at 800x600 at all yet with the 91.33 drivers though. So even though it isn't as pretty at those lower resolution at least it plays."

You can get the beta 91.33 drivers at nzone.com
